Now, part 2 of my answer - as far as holding off giving him sex, you can hold off for a while, but men love the chase.
Unfortunately, if you do finally have sex with him, well, the chase is over and he killed the prey he was hunting.

I would say it is not so common anymore. Whether it was or not, I don't chase as that would be playing cat and mouse which is a dangerous game for men to play.

That is because at any time, a girl can claim harassment, sexual harassment, he's being inappropriate, and become a completely different person.
