Women are wired to look for height. According to dating statistics, it's one of the most important attributes. At least 90% in various research I've done. I'm in the vertically challenged category so I've read a lot about this. It comes down to finding a mate who will breed healthy offspring. Even if a woman is not thinking about it. This is an innate instinct they have. Now, are there women who date short men? Of course, but very far and few inbetween. Google 'heightism' and you'll be shocked by the social stigmas attached to it. It's quite disgusting, but albeit a reality. There is very little one can do about it. You can't change social stigmas or female instinct overnight. You have to just be the best person you can. If you're overlooked due to an uncontrollable attribute you have, that's life. You have no choice but to play the hand your dealt. Good luck.
Judging someone on something that they can't change is just immature and shallow to me.i've noticed that average height girls go for average height guys. its the really short girls that seem to have this obsession with really tall guys. I don't buy the whole protection and "feeling small in his arms" because I doubt that those girls will go for a short and very fat cop who can do the above mentioned things
I understand that in some cases that it's just preference and that everyone is an individual with unique tastes, but I am generalizing this because many women have this particular taste
Also these height differences just look awkward and weird, case in point are Shaq and Hoopz as well as Hayden Panetiere and that Russian boxer Wladimir Klitschko.
Tall is nice, because it makes us feel more protected, but I happen to currently like a guy that is an inch or two shorter than me- because of similar interests, personality, etc. If the guy has the right personality, then height isn't such a big deal.
There is no height requirement for me. I like a guy that is taller than me, but it doesn't have to be by much and it can't be too much cause I am shorter and I like to be able to kiss him with out him having to bend over or me standing on my tip toes.
I wouldn't say that I have a hi requirement but I like someone whos not a great deal shorter than me but I don't crave anybody a lot taller than me either.

Standards like these are not exclusive to women.
What about guys who are like: "I will only date women with small areolae" or "Average / below average and want attractive women to settle for me, but I refuse to do the same for average / below average women."
Yes most girls do like tall guys. I used to prefer tall guys too but I was always getting annoyed with how it hurt my neck to kiss them. That's when I started finding shorter guys more attractive. My boyfriend is 5'6" and I love it.
I notice it but honestly don't care lol because I see the flaws that those girls themselves have physically and/or psychologically and it makes me laugh to myself but I don't say anything :)
Some women have preferences and you can choose not to date them based on those preferences. That's what I do, but not in this category.
I like tall guys just because I am tall myself. I do have reservations about dating shorter guys, but if I like him enough, I will.
