A Chinese girl referred to me as "my good brother". I know in Western culture, they usually see you as a friend, but in Chinese culture can it mean something else, or not necessarily?

In some East Asian cultures, terms like “brother” or “sister” can be used affectionately between friends, even if there's no romantic interest.

I see, but I also saw that brother is something Chinese girls call their boyfriends also. And she has said I was cute in the past and a little after we met she asked me if I had a girlfriend and all. Just wasn't sure. Like it I feel it might have just been as in friend. Which doesn't mean interest I know, but doesn't mean she is not interested if that makes sense. It's not like I asked her out and she said it. We were just casually chatting and all.
