Has feminism made families stronger or weaker?

Fr. Gabriele Amorth writes that instead of improving society, modern feminism has caused men and women to lose their roles in the family, weakening parental authority and spiritual foundations. Has feminism led to the downfall of traditional families?

Modern culture and feminism is just shit and self destroyer, they promote people not making baby and against family because a minority felt uncomfortable with what the majority of people felt comfortable with so they destroyed everything.

People not making babies and not marrying is leading us though a demographic problem that are trying to be solved by mass immigration which destroy further the culture and it does not even help as it just create insecurity and hate.

People are also extremely selfish nowadays and all believe people need to be rich to raise children not understanding you're supposed to sacrifice yourself for your kids so not buy one hundred usueless shit a months but well that's modern life.

Feminism is not the only things to blame but more just human nature, people man or woman are selfish, men don't want to marry because they rather play video games all day or drink with their friends (the whole sexy clothes + free sex from every women + not being forced to marry if woman get pregnant becuase there's abortion was actually something that men wanted and like back in the late 60s 70s).

They wanted to have fun without being forced to settle down which is why they supported feminism at this era. Which anyway they called it feminism but it's more something made for selfish immature people. Those and people who people who just reject anything traditional are just as much to blame for the era we're in today. Men supported feminism back then because it arranged them now it came to bite everyone in the ass as is it a self destroying things.

You’re clearly passionate about this, and despite the harsh tone, I think we’re saying similar things in some places. Modern culture, including feminism, has pushed extremes—on both sides. It didn’t elevate women by honoring their nature. It told them to be like men. And in the process, men and women both lost what made them unique and essential to family life.

You’re right that selfishness is a massive problem. But where I think we differ is this: I don’t think tradition failed us. I think we abandoned it, and now we’re dealing with the fallout—loneliness, mistrust, broken families, and no moral compass.

The feminism of the past may have fought for rights. But modern feminism forgot why families mattered in the first place. And when we discard structure and sacrifice for indulgence and pride, everyone loses.

Well for starter feminism was a movement created by rich women who were bored at home, they wanted to write books like men and become poet but were forbidden from doing so (so they used to write under fake name) they pushed for women to work, to get vote right, etc... but the true was that poor women always worked always (in their house and outside of it, they worked in factory, became nurse, nourrice (women who gave their milk to baby of rich women becuase those refused to feed their own baby), etc... So feminism basically have always been about rich women throwing. tantrum (but not actually about helping the poor women who actually needed help much more than them).
And yes I do not understand why modern feminism want to make women look like men now if we like dress heels and long hair we're badly considered (when I was a teen with my sister before going out I was shaving my legs to be able to wear a dress and then brushed my hair for 30 min becuase it's super long then my sister made a comment about how for sure I was not a feminist becuase I was doing all that and I just told her that obviously I wasn't one and I just wanted to live my life peacefully, no need to be one nowadays I can just live my life in peace doing whatever I want (so being feminine and taking care of myself) cause I'm able too and it's what I like doing).
I don't get the whole modern feminism it's all very crazy, people can live good without getting bothered by it and but they still search for trouble for some reasons, just like the whole gender / pronouns things, it did not exist 10 years ago and now it exist, every time there's some "progress" being made they invent a new problem.

Yes, a lot of men have become very feminine those last decade and women it depend on which some are still good and others are just crazy, sometime when I read or hear what they say, I can understand the men disliking them.

When things is tradition did fail some people, lets just take my grandmother example she was raped, forced to marry her rapist, had tons of babies and was physically abused aswell as forbidden to work while my grandfather was lazy and refused to work more than the mininmum required (which obviously was not enough to feed 5 kids and two adult, also he stole food and the children sometime had nothing to eat, they had to divide portion for 2 between 5... So yes tradition did fail on some aspect (here any man could marry which women he wanted by raping her cause losing virginity before marriage and being pregnant before wedding was a big no-no).
She also could not leave and divorce as it used to be forbidden and when it was authorized she had to wait till her children were grown so they wouldn't get separated.

In my opinion tradition is best for majority but the fact that some very dark story took place make people want to change things and some stories were so dark people made it a generalization and wanted change. And who would deny women the right to be able to divorce or work if she was abused? Nobody was going to be agains it, same with abortion before pills did not exist and women had the marital laws saying they were required to give their husband sex at least one time per week if not he could divorce her for fault and put her in prison (before not doing your marital duty was punished from jail time for women but men that wanted to do sodomy were pushed by jail too and the woman could divorce for it).
While tradition is good they were some dark things about it because not everyone is good person so obviously it lead to change but it lead to change ways too big and out of nature.
Changed were needed and punition required for the bad person.
But now it's ways too much 25 % of couple separate first years of their first born, what could push a couple to separate on the first years of their first child? Seriously there's nothing that justify the 25 %, people just leave each other for no reasons now.

Well government could have fought against it cause no baby is bad for demography but they preferred to let enter immigrant instead and destroy their culture, feminism have lead to destruction of culture but it was authorized by government so they're more the one to blame.

Divorce rates are up. Many couples do walk away too quickly. And modern culture often promotes individual indulgence over commitment and sacrifice.

But blaming feminism alone—or immigrants—isn’t the whole picture. Government policies may have enabled cultural shifts, but it’s people who embraced them. And while some changes were necessary to protect women from real abuse and inequality, others went too far and eroded the values that held families together.

I agree with you that tradition shouldn’t mean suffering. It should mean stability, love, and shared purpose. What we need now isn’t a return to the past… but a re-centering of what made the best parts of it worth keeping: family, responsibility, and faith.

We can’t fix this with anger alone. We need clarity. And we need each other.

Well the problem is that kids are extreme so while their parents adapted good needed change their kids to it to the next level and then their grandkid took even more extreme mesure, when I see teen of today I feel like I live in a parallel worlds where my generation was conservative while it was far from being conservative but in my generation everyone wanted to have a boyfriend / girlfriend, always worried what men found attractive, etc... Now they all claim to want to be rich that normal life si their worst nightmare and that they want to remain alone all their life, it's so crazy. So many people don't want children either, I think it's like around 15 percent of women that don't want it's huge. They're all obsessed with money saying you can't have kids if you're poor while countries who have the most children are poor countries... Some change were good but because young generation. take everything to the extreme it lead to bad things also they never listen to their parents theyre very stubborn.

But yea people have been ways too lennient of those behavior and we're paying the price for it.

yes, we need to keep tradition but also keep the good change kinda like a mix of the best of both worlds.

We definitely won't be fixing anything with anger that's for sure, we need a clear mind. And need to get the "bad" people to the good ways back again.

@alice55, I think you’re actually describing what modern feminism has done, even if you didn’t name it outright.

It’s pushed generation after generation to value individual gratification over family, to trade responsibility for rebellion, and to see traditional roles—not as noble callings—but as burdens. That’s why so many young people today fear normal life, commitment, or parenthood. Feminism promised empowerment but instead delivered confusion and instability.

You’re right that some changes were needed—but without an anchor, those changes became extremes. And now, as you said, we’re paying the price.

We don’t need to go back in time. But we do need to go back to truth, to purpose, and to honoring the strength of tradition—before the next generation loses even more.

That's for sure but it's gonna be hard as news generations are quite crazy also I noticed more and more men acting like women (surely becuase they were raised only by their women and I noticed their personality were very similar to what my mother tried to raise me to be but as a child I only listened to my father and never my mother so she was not able to put weird idea in my head XD).

A strong mother is invaluable, but so is a strong father. It’s the loss of both together that’s left so many young people struggling with identity, stability, and purpose.
