I hear a lot of women say that men don't like tall women but is that actually true? Think about it for a second. A tall girl is more likely to give a man a tall son, which every man would prefer, and she is more likely to give a tall daughter who is less likely to be targeted by a predator.
To me the belief that men don't like tall girls is more due to how the dating world is dictated by female choice. Pearl Davis is a youtuber and professional volleyball player, that is tall, and she said that during her many years on the team, she has notice her female friends either only date men their height (6'1+ and above) or date a few inches lower but the guy had to be hot. Now depending on what country you look at, restricting your dating option to 6'1 and above is going to greatly hamper your chance in finding someone for a relation.
[6'4" tall girl that only targets men her height or taller. These men often are professional athletes that only use her for sex and now she has reserved herself to staying single]
I think a lot of avg and short men don't even bother approaching tall girls due to the fact that women make it so vocal all the time that they want a guy at least as tall of them. And this lack of approaching by men shorter than them is often used by women as a scapegoat to justify only wanting taller men. Aka men don't like tall girls the same way that women don't like short men.
[For example, Jackie Jing is an American model and comedian. Few years back she made a video complaining about how dating was hard. She was 30 and wanted a serious relationship but didn't want to compromise on height]
[Gabby Gonzalez is 6'1" and appeared in a youtube channel dedicated to street interviews. In it, she talks about height doesn't matter and how its a man personality and soul. A few months after she started dating a 6'5" good looking male and their relationship ended in 7 months]
Now, would these women have the same problem if they expanded their dating life?
