She's not a bad person and was very good to me growing up but from what I saw and heard her say she made being born a female seem like the short end of the stick and there was an implication that I was lucky to be a boy mostly referring to girls being unlucky for having periods, mood swings, breasts, and eventually pregnancy. She also was more lenient with me and my brother than my sister. Now I have a gut reaction pity for women because they're women even though I know it's stupid and I feel that it has set back my relationships throughout my life.

Fix it on the same level as where the problem lies. You already know on the logic and deep theory level that it is wrong. But what remains is surface and observation she displayed. Pause the deep thinking so that your mind can concentrate on the shallower kind of learning, and witness examples of it being the opposite. Your mom didn't just tell you about it but she also showed it to you. No matter how clearly you grasp the idea of it being wrong, your body acts on how it saw things play out in the real world. Feelings often don't listen to logic, but adapt to what you see.
Grow up. Act your age.
What is it with GAG and painfully immature anons? It seems the older they are, the more juvenile they seem.
Empathy doesn't usually cause problems.
But it's not empathy. I have almost a patronizing attitude towards women on first reaction
