Why would a girl unblock you online after a year?

some things went down with this girl I liked a lot. we fell out pretty bad, ultimately due to me having feelings for her, and didn't feel the same for me. I unfriended her, and she blocked me in return. like a year after this happened though, she seemed to have unblocked me. why?

Don't read into it: she may be over it, unblocking is the equivalent of a clean slate, BUT. That doesn't mean it's an invitation to get your hopes up. It's been a year, it's history. Feelings were maybe hurt on her end from the un-friending (way to put her between a rock and a hard place) and the blocking may have been a result of that or she didn't want to be blunt, but she really didn't want to speak with you again and her opportunity arose. Either way, she erased evidence of the event. Don't ask her why, don't try to add her, she didn't contact you, just move on because she almost certainly has.

what if she's somehow hinting that she does want to speak again or that she will contact me when she's ready or something?

That's really sweet, but probably an over optimistic line of thought. It's not impossible, though. If she unblocked you more than two months ago and still hasn't sent a friend request she's probably never going to. If you see her around, best thing to do is smile, no teeth. Pass by, don't push it.

Why did you two fight? That'd help a lot in deciding which way she's leaning

I felt strung along by her and she sugar-coated everything and was neglecting towards me on top of it. just got sick of it. sent me more and more into a downward spiral. yes, it's been over a couple months. I just can't stand how the only girl I've ever wanted to be with, won't even take a chance with me.

Observations:

a) sounds like you're alluding to depression- true or false? If true, this may be the reason she's over it

b) sugar-coating doesn't necessarily mean she wants you to go along with it, just that she doesn't want to be the mean one. She may well and truly not care if you're "strung" behind her or not, but can't say the harsh words "I'm not interested. At all. But don't think I'm a mean person."

c) "only girl [you've] ever wanted to be with" leads me to think you're being too gushy.

a) I was depressed for a while.

b) I would have rather been told that she "wasn't interested" from the beginning instead of been given hope for months and months. I had already liked her for a couple of years. I didn't need her to try and be "extra nice" about rejection.

c) what's the point in dating and relationships if you can't commit to the person you want to be with? too gushy? please... women complain and say they want a loving man, but when he comes, they run like the hills. :|

One, she never asked you to be romantic, right? She may not have specifically said she's not interested bu she also didn't say she was. So don't jump the gun. If she did mention sensitivity it was probably to show disinterest in you (quality not available in nearby guys). Don't talk about depression if you're only in a friendship, but want more. There's more than one reason they run for the hills.

my point is, I just try to be everything a girl could want, and would find attractive in a man, because if I find someone I want to be with, I will be ready for a serious relationship. how foolish of me to feel this way fresh out of high school right? I want a girl to know how I feel, I don't want to play games. I want to show her that I will fight for her, and am willing to work hard to make things work. I never told her I was depressed or anything either. I don't know why that's so wrong.

She's over the pettiness and sees the blocking as something childish. She's probably just over the drama and doesn't care anymore. But like HandwrittenTexts said, don't get your hopes up. This doesn't mean much. Don't contact her and see if she contacts you.

Unblocking may just be to clear out her page, she probably thinks you've lost hope and stopped checking to see if she unblocked you. Sorry, dude.

She may also see it as being cathartic, like she's "washed her hands of you" and that you're no longer a weight on her chest.

More like a needle in the bottom of her foot or a 20lb weight on her back that she wants to get rid of because it's bogging her down.

she probably updated her privacy settings and came across her block list and said what the heck let me block this and that person...its been a while I don't give a sh*t anymore I'm over it and way past it.

lol it's OK. you think it effected her much, like if she really cared? I mean, what if she just blocked me because I seemed way too desperate or in to her? sorry I just have always overanalyzed things, I just thought she was way too perfect. like she struck a chord way down in the depths of my soul, as corny as that sounds. it blows me away that this still bothers me, you know?

i honestly don't know, it depends on the person and what your relationship really was with her. if she unblocked you, you can say that she has no grudges against you at least and she realized she overreacted and was immature. however if she didn't have feelings for you then,you should just move on, and forget about her. I think its one sided and you like her more than she ever could like you.

well I know that for a fact, there's no way she could ever like me as much as I like her. I truthfully think some guys love harder than girls! but anyway, yeah I've tried for a long time, and I'm much better off than I used to be but, man, last night I couldn't stop thinking about her, and those chest pains came back! I just really feel like I lost something more than just a friend. I wish things didn't have to be this way.
