Why does this girl hide her smile from me?

I have noticed that there's this girl I talk to a lot that she will hide her smile/laugh from me ALL the time, when I talk to her. If I make a funny joke or comment or whatever she will just stare at me and tell me how unfunny I am, but I can tell she is holding back. She is one of those bubbly girls who will smile a lot and laugh at any little joke people make, but I can't for the life of me make her smile when we are talking. The only times I see her smiling is when she makes fun of me or when other girls make fun of me, she will have this HUGE smile. Sometimes if I ask her for a smile she will do it or when she sees me after we haven't talked for a while, but other than that, she is like a statue and when I ask her why, she tells me to stop crying, wtf? any ideas?

I hate when people in general do that. Why they can't give the satisfaction of laughing or smiling when you said something funny is beyond me. Or even worse, the person who criticizes your humor, but has never said anything funny in their entire life.

You are getting the "special treatment" from a girl. This means she could like you.

You are getting THIS special treatment. That mans she is immature and will most likely drive you insane with games if you make a move.

Oh yeah, she can be immature about these things. She has never had a boyfriend so that could be it. Altough I am extremely nice to her, she acts like I'm not nice and we fight, a lot. At the same time, we can't stop talking to each other, its weird.

The fact that she never had a boyfriend has nothing to do with it.

But seriously. She is either VERY shy and is not emotionally mature enough to deal with her emotions properly. (forgot this possibility) Or she just thinks playing games is good and will do so until you go mad and give up.

Well, it goes something with what you said. It could be the fact that she never had a boyfriend because she doesn't know how to deal with her emotions (I remember her telling me she doesn't know how to deal with these things). She is a nice girl and very smart (one of the reasons I like her) and we can talk forever and play fight but when the chance presents itself to express her emotions, she gets all weird. SHe can be sweet and affectionate with other, but she is just "mean" to me lol :P

I said it could be because she never had a boyfriend because I know many emotionally mature and smart girls who never had boyfriends and never act this way, while I also know some who have dated guys and still act silly, even annoyingly bitchy. Emotional or intellectual maturity is not conditioned by your love life or sexual life. True, experience is good, but even that experience will never be wisdom unless you have a brain to make it wisdom. You don't have to date a guy to know games are dumb.

You are right, thanks for the advice. It's a bit annoying, we obviously have a great time together because we have such great chemistry and we can play off each other comments and keep teasing and stuff bu we can't just make that "jump". Sometimes after we have a great conversation is like she realizes she may be giving herself away and starts acting indifferent and when she does, I get mad and stop talking for days. I see her moping and I go up to her and start talking and the cycle starts over

Well she most likely has a crush on you. Just be straightforward and give her the time to think. She may drag this stupid little game to the very end and make you chase her even in rejection. Don't.Just say your offer stands and give her time to think if she makes any gesture showing she may not be completely interested.Gather some courage, be direct and handle that little brat like a man. =)
