Unsure of why she told me about her plans?

-=-=Short Version=-=-

Girls, why would you tell a guy about your plans for the weekend and not ask him if he wanted to come along? Especially if it was an event you knew he'd be interested in going to as well. Is it because you're too shy to ask him directly, just really excited, curious to see if he'll ask if he can come along, or is there another reason?

So, I sort of have this thing for a coworker, this morning while on the way to work (I drive her to/from work and home on most days) she was telling me about how she was going to attend this event going on in the city on Saturday.

Normally I wouldn't really think anything of it, I mean, it's great to have plans set out for the weekend, right? But this just seemed so... out of the blue, so to speak. By that, I mean usually we're talking about what we're doing on the weekend halfway through the week, not at the start of it.

I'm wondering if she was just THAT excited about the event, she felt the need to tell someone about it. Or, was she trying to be subtle and see if I wanted to tag along with her? I've read up on the event, and would actually love to go, especially with her.

I talked to her briefly about the event after work, getting an idea what kind of pass she bought, event details, where the location is, etc. But she didn't say about who she might be going with, if anyone. I tried dropping subtle hints that I would love to take her, but I guess she didn't catch on.

Would it be too weird/desperate if I just bluntly asked who she was going with, and if I could come along without her asking me first? Usually I wouldn't read into it this much, but the tickets sell out fairly quickly from what I hear, and was thinking she was trying to tell me "Buy one, and lets go together!" without actually saying that.

Anyway, I'm sure there's a painfully obvious answer that I just can't see... I'm in need of some advice/opinions otherwise I'll spend the rest of my day rattling my brain over this.
