I was reading through the comments on here and you said that you didn't want to get rid of the blocking system but it sounds like you do. What exactly do you want to get rid of in the blocking system? The stuff that you said above?
Sorry, my total conclusions on the entire blocking system are not all clear or finalized, by any means. I really was incensed by a couple of unjustices with the way it was abused, and I think the system needs some changes. A lot of people feel this way. I have been culling opinions from all users. I would have been fine with either eliminating or overhauling, but the more I think about it, the more I think it should exist, it just needs several core changes. My #1, 4 and 5 are the key ones, above, that I would advocate for. And now there are specfic suggestions here, and on my other questions and MyTake regarding this. It's not easy to cull them all together, but slowly I can see a new shape forming. Today I unblocked someone who I had blocked, and honestly I forgot why, what specifically but it had something go do with my interpretation of his political stance which I'm sure I found inflammatory or obstinant. But I came across some very well-worded and well thought-out other post (s) and am I going to be making some changes to my methods, even if the site doesn't (but they are working on this, believe me). So today I messaged him to tell him I'd like to start over, turn over a new leaf, and we had a fascinating conversations for hours. It was the right decision. And he was the absolute perfect choice to begin this with. It could not have gone any better. He said I am the first person who has ever done that. We had a very open and honest exchange, and I believe he is wise and intelligent now. I may have bitter disagreements, politically, but I understand, in theory, his methods right now. And so, it begins...
@Wowgirl30q Ahhh interesting. Good to know. So a lot of hypocrisy there. And being an Editor, and removing whatever posts she doesn't like from her own questions and everywhere else.
But without the anonymous feature, many topics would not be discussed/asked (I'm sure the male users want female users to ask/pose/answer sex questions, so that's just one example. But there are many others that deal with very sensitive issues, so I personally can still see the benefit of anon sometimes. I just think there has to be limits to it.)
Yeah, for something reaaaally innocuous, like 'what's your favourite ice cream?' Wth? Anyway, we can create questions with no anon answer option, and we cannot respond to anons, if we choose.
You can't. I thought this was a bug on desktop that was available on mobile, but I was mistaken. Site told me it's not designed that way. Should it be?
Certainly if you are the original poster, you should not be blocked from responding. As I see it, blocking should be to prevent stalking or harassment. If someone is stalking you, you shouldn't throw gasoline on the fire by responding to their questions. Furthermore, there is no stalking issue if someone post as Annonoumus. Therefore, blocking should not be permitted when posting as Annonoumous.
Also, I fully agree with problem #4. There should be some method to know if you are blocked before you take the time to respond to a question. Just preventing you from typing (imputing) or notifying you when you type the first character would suffice.
If the blocking system was completely eliminated, that would be one thing. And I would accept that. But to be blocked from writing on your own question, is a whole other ballgame. That is really unjust.

Honestly, I think it's fine as is.
I agree with your points especially seeming the questions from those that have blocked you.
I like it! Good take!!!
Thanks, Syd.
Good job Ms

Facts😀
The sooner they remove the anonymous feature the better on here.

I agree. Anonymous should be for sensitive or personal questions only. Why people need to be anonymous for most other questions?
Yeah, for something reaaaally innocuous, like 'what's your favourite ice cream?' Wth? Anyway, we can create questions with no anon answer option, and we cannot respond to anons, if we choose.
I didn't know you can respond anonymously to a comment.
You can't. I thought this was a bug on desktop that was available on mobile, but I was mistaken. Site told me it's not designed that way.
Should it be?
I think there would be trolls on comments if you could so probably not be able to is better
If you posted a question anonymously, you remain anonymous when responding to opinions and comments, identified only as "asker".
@Red_Arrow oh yeah that's right
I disagree with your opinion, blocking is something we all need and there's nothing you can do
Your takeaway is that I think we should eliminate blocking altogether? That's not what I said at all.
These are all good, valid points.
That happen one time but it is not a problem.

I agree it's ridiculous
Solution: don’t block anybody
