Not actually kicking real puppies, But used as a metaphor for kids who suffer severe physical or emotional abuse (Usually both at the same time).
Not to be confused with Kick-the- dog-sydrome. Which is mistreating a peer or someone lower then you, because someone higher then you mistreated your ass.
I think humans, like puppies can grow up one of two ways after a significant amount of abuse.
1. Meek and docile
Fearful and very wary of people, A raised voice will make them piss on the floor and scurry to the nearest place to hide and shake. Nervous, very flinchy and avoids arguments at all costs. These people have serious trust issues and have a very hard time forming lasting and healthy relationships with people.

These people can get confrotational, But will always feel guilty or somehow in the wrong. They wiil also think they are never good enough. And are actually more comfortable being abused, Then being complimented.
People often feel sorry for this type, And really want to help them. Or people really take advantage of this type, Because they will keep forgiving and coming back for more.
2. And the other extreme type, The very mean and violent tempered Bastard.
Angry, Vicious, hateful, And ready to bite the living fuck out of anybody that gets near!
This is a very misuderstood and depressed breed. Full of misplaced aggression, And ready to lash out at anytime to justify all the anger they have inside. This type makes very few real friends (If any). But they desperetely try to connect with people by faking emotions and social skills they just don't have.
Highly confrotational, Extremely argumentitive, and always on the verge of starting some kind of trouble. Even though they can't make friends easily, if they do ever consider you a friend then they will be very loyal and will fight through hell and back on your behalf.
But sooner or later they might even turn on you. They can't help it, It's just their miserable nature. This type is usually hated by many.

Awe so sad 😢 It's amazing how detrimental our childhood can be on our adult life. I definitely have suffered from type 1 but I'm striving to overcome it 💪
That's what you have to do :) Good luck!
Great Take, as usual, I'm quite familiar with that syndrome, it's sad but true.
Thanks, Man!
You're welcome
Can this syndrome come from intense bullying early on?
Oh yeah.
There are many, many, many types of abuse people go through. Even a lot of self-inflicted kind.
Thanks a lot.
You are welcome.
