In Response to the "36 Questions Women Have For Men" Feminist Video

Anonymous

I feel like everyone's responding to this so now I wanna do it too! I'm going to answer it from a very subjective, personal perspective; as if they're asking me directly, although obviously, that's not always gonna work well and, as a small side effect of this, a lot of my answers may just be me saying "but I don't do that". Also, this is my first myTake (hence posting anonymously; until I get better at it, y'know?). We'll see how that goes. But for now, into the answerrrs!

How does it feel to be the same sex as Donald Trump?

Erm, doesn't really feel like anything to be honest. He and I are so far apart that I can't even begin to approach thinking about this one. Why is this the first question, by the way?

MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT

Why do you hate romcoms? Or do you just feel like you need to hate them?

I don't hate romcoms... I never said I hated them. Ever. I've never said this! But I've never seen The Notebook and I don't particularly care for pop music, so how can you say it's a fact that I like them? Or that I don't?

Why do you make women sit around and talk about men in movies when you'll easily just sit around and talk about boobs for hours?

Huh? What? Does anyone do that? Does this question even make sense? And I can't talk about boobs (especially not for hours, considering there wouldn't be that much to talk about), mostly because that kinda thing's too embarrassing to talk about.

Why do you automatically assume that you won't like TV or movies that star a female lead?

Again, I don't...? Why would I do that? There are movies with female leads I like. Why would I care about the gender of the movie's protagonist?

Why are you surprised when women are funny? I'm probably funnier than you.

I'm not. Do all of these questions revolve around preconceived notions of how I (and "all men") think? And since humour is subjective, we can't objectively know if you're funnier than me or not. Though it is arrogant to assume you're funnier than me without ever even having met me. Or, as you're probably assuming, that you're funnier than almost all males.

COURTING AND DATING

Why do you think that we're obsessed with you when we hook up? Nine times out of ten, I just want you to leave too! I'm busy; I got shit to do!

I can't really answer this question since I've never hooked up and never really intend to.

Why can't I sleep with as many people as I want to without being judged? When men do it, they're congratulated.

Why are you asking me? I'm not the one doing the judging! But I'm pretty sure no one can sleep with an indefinite amount of people with no judging whatsoever.

Why do you consider a woman a tease if she doesn't sleep with you after three dates but a slut if she sleeps with you on the first date?

I don't. But seriously, both of those are moving waaay too fast for me! Slow down a little, jeez!

In what world does "no" mean "yes"? "No" means "no"!

Um, in no world...? Except in some weirdly specific alternate universe in which that is a specifically stated feature. Unless you just found yourself reading "in yes world"...

Why do you say that women are too emotional to be leaders, then justify cat-calling by saying "men just can't control themselves"?

Here's another "I don't" question! Women can be leaders! And men can definitely control themselves; at least, they should be able to! But, err, how are these related?

Why do you think that just because you're nice to me, I owe you my body?

Why would anyone think that? Who says I even want your body? Don't flatter yourself.

Why would you ever send an unsolicited dick pick?

Eww, I wouldn't! That shizzle's private, yo!

COMMUNAL SPACES

Why do you feel like it's okay to harass women or make offensive comments about women, but when somebody does it to your sister, it's not okay?

I don't feel like any of that stuff's okay... I'm pretty sure most people agree with me on that one! Hey, does anyone feel like that's okay? Anyone out there? Now I'm curious: does anyone actually think this?

How does it feel to interrupt me when I'm in the middle of making a point during a meeting?

I've never been in a meeting and I've never interrupted someone like that, so I wouldn't know.

Why do you have to sit with your legs so wide open? I get that you have balls, but I don't stand around with my arms wide open to make room for my boobs.

I don't "have to"; in fact, I don't even do it! I cross my legs for the most of times, and even when I don't, they aren't that far apart. I don't know how many boys I speak for in saying this.

CURIOSITY

Why are women perceived as the "weaker sex" even though we literally birth you? Like watermelons through, like, [the hole made when you press your thumb and index finger together]?

Because throughout most of history, that's how it has been. Giving birth is a natural thing that occurs, so people don't give it much thought. And, also, more women are statistically weaker than most men. That doesn't mean it applies to everyone, though; we're all individuals. I'd be willing to bet that I'm physically weaker than most of you.

Why is it so bad to show your emotions? It means you're human.

It's not. In fact, it's actually worse not to show your emotions as bottling things up in that manner can cause unnecessary stress and literally shorten your life.

Why are you always trying to prove your masculinity to me?

I'm not. I have no masculinity to prove.

Why the f*** isn't it ladylike to cuss? When did words get genders?

I think that's because the definition of "ladylike" is "appropriate for or typical of a well-bred, decorous woman or girl." That implies that someone "ladylike" wouldn't really be the type to cuss. Think about it like the girl's equivalent of the word "gentlemanly". On another note, words have genders in a lot of languages such as French or German; I'm pretty sure English used to have genders too, being a Germanic language and all.

Why is it your first instinct to doubt women who have been sexually violated or raped?

Actually, I could easily ask you the same question and remove the "wo-" from "women". But to answer your question, no, it's not my first instinct to doubt anyone who says that unless their story is somehow unbelievable.

Why do you assume a woman's angry because she's on her period?

I don't. In fact, I know that it's most likely that that's not the case. But perhaps I would have thought so before since I've heard so many stories of women (falsely) blaming their behaviour on their period, though.

Why do you think women that wear make-up are false advertising? We can say the same think about your dick size.

Dafuq? No you can't! How? To quote an earlier answer, "That shizzle's private, yo!" (Just so people know, I don't speak like that often or anything.) But seriously, what? How do you figure that? And just so you know, I don't think women that wear make-up are "false advertising".

Why isn't it weird that there's a bunch of old white men sitting in a room making legislation about what I can and can't do with my body? Do you have a coochie?

I don't know. I'm not particularly knowledgeable about this kind of political stuff, especially if it's exclusive to America. I'm not even sure if this is or not, but anyway. And what the heck is a "coochie"?

Why are straight guys so obsessed with lesbians?

They are? I haven't noticed. I'm certainly not.

How does it feel to get kicked in the balls?

I hope that's a genuine question out of curiosity rather than a threat. But if you must know, I have no idea and hopefully, I'll never find out. Ask someone who has been kicked there.

Do you ever get tired of trying to be manly all the time?

No, because as I established earlier, I don't try to be manly all the time.

EQUALITY

Why are you so afraid of gender equality?

I'm not! I want gender equality! But hold on a moment: don't most of these questions revolve around sexist stereotypes? Hmm...

Why do I deserve to be paid less than you? In what world does seventy-seven cents equal a dollar? In what world does sixty-eight cents equal a dollar? How is that fair?

You don't. Why would you? I'm pretty sure those wage gaps are all myths if you're in America... Maybe you should check your facts.

Why are you intimidated by a woman who makes more money than you? That's awesome! More money!

That is awesome! And I'm not intimidated.

Why are opinionated women seen as bitches when opinionated men are seen as bosses?

I don't got a clue.

Why aren't you speaking up when you hear your male friends behind closed doors make jokes that are offensive to women?

Because I don't have male friends who make jokes that are offensive to women?

Why are you so afraid of recognising your own privilege? Doesn't mean you're a bad person. Just recognise it and do something about it.

I'm not. In fact, I'm privileged AF. But that's just me; it doesn't mean all men are... On another note, what do you want me to do about my privilege? What can I do? Do you expect me to somehow get rid of it or something?

Aaand that about wraps it up! Sorry if this is just another one of these out of a million... Have a good day!
