7 Problems Only Guys With Thick Facial Hair Will Understand

I was cursed with having thick facial hair. My father had thick facial hair, so it was natural I will have thick facial hair too. So not my fault at all. But I have to struggle with this curse daily.

1) Cuts Are Frequent

Since I have thick facial hair, I have to put more muscle in order to shave them as deep as I can. As a result, I end up being cut. Bleeding is part of my lIfe actually, and I can tell, I bleed more than the average wrestler from the WWE. So seeing my face in blood, doesn’t shock me any more.

2) Smooth face is hard to achieve

Again, even if you spent one hour in the mirror –as I say below- you won’t get the smooth face you desire. There will be a few remains here and there. Not to mention this grayness on your face will start to be visible after some hours.

3) When girls say beards are sexy it pisses you off

It really does. It’s like a slap on your face this one. The monster that you fight on a daily basis, being labeled as sexy by some girls, it makes me feel like…They may find it sexy, but I don’t find myself sexy with this thing on my face. Why should I do their favor, even if I hate myself afterwards?

4) You are jealous when a guy says he cannot grow a beard

Maybe it’s not true for all guys with thick facial hair, but personally when someone says he cannot grow a beard I’m thinking…Lucky bastard, how much money and time you have saved. So shut up and don’t complain. Look at me…

5) You Make Shaving Companies Rich

Shaving isn’t for free. If only, I could write down how much I have spent…it’s a whole fortune! I honestly believe, I have had more shaving sessions than the average 40 year old man, and I’m only just 25! So much money, right?

6) You spend more time in the mirror than the average man who shaves

I have to spend one hour every day, for shaving my face, because I need to do many passes, in order to be as much clean shaven as I can.

7) You started shaving earlier than your peers

As early as 16, you started to shave typically like an adult, whilst most of your other friends your age, had only this soft mustache above their lips.

In conclusion: You guys who cannot grow a beard you must feel lucky. Look at me, and you will realize how lucky you are.

Imagine if you were a girl? your drama queen complaints would be endless!!! Be happy that you are a guy and that hair is at least acceptable in many many places where it is unsightly and or unacceptable on girls and critiqued by society!!

to help prevent cuts or rashes, my advice is to add a thick lather of soap with a bit of water on an exfoliating glove like this one

and rub it on all the places where there is hair that you plan to shave. Go with and against the hair... put pressure on it but not enough to scar you... just hard enough to scratch the surface of the skin to get the dead skin off...

then you add a thick leather of whatever shaving soap or foam you use to start shaving and shave it... it should be a pleasant shave, rather than just simply wetting it and then adding foam to shave it... that leaves a bunch of redness... I do this to shave my legs and such other places... it works for me!! and super soft skin!!

Oh, and i personally prefer the exfoliating towel rather than the glove... it just simply works better for me. It must be this material though... not like the luffas! those don't do the magic. :p!

As an Indian girl, I understand where you're coming from. My hair is quite thick, so I spend most of my money waxing or threading it ( If not shaving it). It's a pain , but beauty is a pain...

I can only grow half a gotee and a full mustache. The gotee doesn't even grow evenly. The mustache looks good but the gotee has to go. I use a beard trimmer on the shortest clip. I can get close to the skin where the hair isn't noticable without discomfort. Its quick, easy, and painless. I spent $20 on a beard trimmer and its worked perfectly for the past couple years. It takes 2-3 weeks for the gotee to come back. And its almost like a 45 second break out of my bathroom day to get rid of it.

Why dont you just use a beard trimmer?

Edit: When shaving my face i dont use the lowest stubble clip, thats what i use to trim my pubes and balls. On my chin i use no clip on it and it gets it pretty darn close to smooth

I imagine it must be like us shaving our pubes... Impossible to be smooth, and hello! If you cut yourself down there, that's not pleasant at all. Way more wrinkles and crevices than your face... And you need to squat or sit like an awkward cat for an hour to shave clean.

I LOVE shaving with either DE or cut throat. 25 - 30 minutes of zone in and quiet time. Hearing the sound of the blade against the whiskers are music to my ears.

i had to start shaving on age 12 man, by age 16 i was bleeding every time i had to shave. by age 19 i grew it all out. and now i am here, a sexy lad with a sexy beard. just kidding lol.

you know having a beard is more expensive than not having one.

you need to invest in a beard comb or brush, preferably a hand made one if its a comb and a boar bristle one if its a brush. combs and brushes lasts forever but they cost a lot of money.

you need a high quality scissors to trim your beard hairs and mustache.

you need beard oil, you dont need it but it makes your beard look really good, and smelling good too.

you need mustache wax if you grow out your mustache at least.

you can use beard softener and beard wash too if you like, it all costs a lot of money because the industry is small (although its growing)

you need to use organic products because artificial ones may be too harsh.

Many Japanese people have thick hair and thick facial hair. I guess that's why now you have those razors with five blades and special electrical razors.
My boyfriend shaves his beard quite fast, and he prefers the electrical razor. Perhaps you can look into that.

That is indeed the stereotype, but many people are surprisingly hairy - and thick hair too. Other sometimes don't have much hair on their arms, but have other body hair and vice versa.

Unfortunately, irritated skin like this can also happen when manscaping. A good thing to use though is one of those penis health cremes that contain Vitamin E. I've been using one every day and it keeps the skin moisturized and healthy so it doesn't get all dinged up when shaving down there. It saves me from a lot of discomfort. Keep these cremes in mind!

Lots of guys who can't grow a beard are unhappy about it. The grass is always greener on the other side. Of course, if you don't want a beard, it makes sense that thick facial hair would be annoying. But understand that lots of men would prefer to have hair like yours.

If you don't want a beard, don't grow a beard. Of course you don't need to grow a beard just because there are some women who like it. There are just as many women out there who don't like beards, if not more.

I can't relate, other than leg hair is seen as disgusting, as if that's our fault. Except I think men who can grow beards totally have the right to complain. Especially when beards are supposed to be super sexy to some people, not being able to have some must suck.

I didn't grow a full, thick beard until I was in my mid 20s. It's not the thickest as far as hair follicle density, but it's curly and really bushy, so it looks pretty thick when it grows out.

I grow a full, untrimmed beard whenever I can. Currently rocking one now.

Yeah I always cut my face while shaving, well I got used to it since I am cutting myself for years :D So thats why I just trim my beards but don't shave all of em'. Having thick beard isn't a problem for me, I even love to have much more beard and I don't think guys who can't grow beard are lucky, they all look like kiddos who just started to high school and I think its a turn off.

Awe you poor babies. I was actually thinking about this the other day. I know when I shave my legs and the hair grows back it's super itchy and uncomfortable. The face is so much more sensitive than that, I can only imagine how it feels. Yikes!

Electric razors are way better than manual ones in my opinion. I haven't shaved my face smooth in at least 7 years, now i trim my facial hair down.
