Hope's Rhyme and Reason

The-Nash
What would life bring
If dreams had no hope,
Filled with sorrow, and loss,
And things of that nature and sort.

With goals no taller than
Blades of grass.
Cut down in the hopes,
Like that of a weekly task.

And there's really no predicting; just
Expecting, as to where we are to land;
Within life's woven web of tangled mysteries-
As to where we expect to lay our head.

With life, there's consequences-
And the roads that lead;
To the dreams that challenge-
Commitments to be.

And we all have places to go,
And we all have people to please;
But we can not please everybody
All the time, just for peace.

There are times and there are places
Where things are acceptable by nature,
But, overall, we have to keep in perspective
What it was in the first place, that got us all here.

Learning from the mistakes
We were destined to make,
And going with the flow
Of the days natural pace.

Take it minute, by minute,
And each day, by day;
And watch as the weeks go by-
Have we made a positive change? ...

Because when your ambition is that of
Competing to be the best, you can be;
Sometimes failure may arise,
But maybe ... do we fail, really?

Because, sometimes, we need
To go back to the drawing board
And find a new way, an exciting
New opportunity to succeed.

...

Because I know that when
I was feeling down on myself, and
All I had was Hope. Hope was
Blind, and really could of used a hand.

Then, ever so nervous - Curiosity
Came to help to lend a helping hand;
But even all the way on his tippy-toes-
... His arm couldn't extend!

Then Bravery came along and
Helped to build a bridge,
He had all the tools;
Knowledge, had all the skills.

These three made an incredible team.
And bridge-building, be it, as it may be,
They stuck to it, long enough ...
Certainly, to get a hold of me.

And they left me a message;
I found it in a bottle, it said:
"Pass this along, and
Hopefully others will follow.

To help others' get
Out of the doldrums,
And pay it forward
... as follows-

Show the respect to others-
That yourself wishes upon - you;
And when other's lower their standards
Simply give them a farewell, bid them adieu.

Focus your efforts elsewhere,
And sing yourself a different tune.
No need to whale and whasp
Over the one that got away too soon.

It is time to be like Michael,
Who rowed the boat a shore;
And touch Ground, somehow; and in some way
Give thanks, kiss the ground, touch the sky, just for today."
