Women lead the war on masculinity and it seems dumb.

I should make it clear that I'm not the stereotypical macho guy; I'm not the progressive soy boy either, so I don't really have a dog in this fight but it seems odd to me that it's always women that criticize masculinity and always men who defend it by trying to differentiate between negative behavior and masculinity.

Who really benefits from masculinity?

If you think about the traditional definition of masculinity -strength, courage, ability to provide, resourcefulness and handiness- who do you think benefits from all of that? Not me. A man's ability to provide and protect doesn't benefit me and other men; It doesn't even necessarily benefit the man himself. It is women who receive advantages from masculinity and I can't understand why a number of them want to fight something that benefits them. That's not logical!

As fewer men demonstrate masculine (chivalrous) behavior, women are beginning to talk about how they miss the days when men would go out of their way to guarantee women's safety and comfort. Every time she has to carry something heavy, every time she has to stand because there are no empty seats on the bus or when she watches a video of a man beating up a woman in public and other men walking by a woman wishes there were a man there to help. Things are still not that bad, but women need to understand that they cannot persecute masculinity and expect men to be masculine at the same time. And using phrases like "Toxic-Masculinity" is one way to persecute masculinity. But then again I don't care either way. Masculinity never benefited me and if it goes away, it won't hurt me.

It's mainly feminist women who attack masculinity, and those who do are usually the ones who have very negative views of men in general. In fact they've been taught to view men as competitors rather than partners. The main reason they want to discourage masculinity in men is because they want men weak. Weak men are easier to control and easier to compete against.

You also mention that if masculinity goes away it won't hurt you. Maybe not, depending on how long you live for. In good times masculinity is optional, or at least it seems to be. The trouble is that masculinity is important to the long term success of any culture. When you weaken the men you weaken the culture, and everything goes downhill from there. This has happened time and time again throughout history.

You're missing that the women who DO advocate what they see as "masculinity" are focusing on things like paying for everything or being a gentleman to the point of being a cuck (sometimes literally).

The idea of masculinity has been fragmented beyond repair. If you ask me, it always has been.. now it's just more obvious.

Be yourself. If you're a male, and you focus on being yourself, you'll end up masculine in one way or another. It is inside every one of us after all. Ironically, it's the very people who try to teach masculinity that hold other men back.. and more than a few of those people have vaginas.

Vaginas.. ideals of their own.. and idiots who are willing to listen to them.

This isn’t totally accurate. Women do benefit from some aspects of traditional masculinity but so do men. Traditional masculinity gave men power in and outside of the home. It made them more attractive so women were more interested in having sex and relationships with them. It made them seem like better fathers so more women wanted to have their children. It made them more independent, autonomous, and capable of protecting and providing for themselves as well as others. Traditional masculinity helped men and women.

Men who have strength, courage, ability to provide resourcefulness l, handiness are great, but not unless they also have respect, ability to listen and communicate, empathy, humility, patience, appreciation, pleasant, receptive and ability to compromise. These are all characteristics of a good human being.

I agree with a lot of what you said. Yes, women cannot harm men and expect men to care for them. It doesn't work that way. We need to speak for ourselves. Use what we have for ourselves. If women and society have a problem with it too bad.

The one thing I disagree with you about is associating gallantry (chivalry is a military code, it has nothing to do with women. Women stole chivalry and claimed it for themselves. Just like they did the black civil rights movement) with masculinity. Masculinity is normal male behavior. Masculinity is holding women accountable. I am very masculine without being subservient to women. Gallantry is being subservient to women. Gallantry is not the same as masculinity. Gallantry is the opposite of masculinity.
