The problem with the word simp and the reason I don't take the word seriously is that a lot of people have a different idea on where the line is between respecting and liking women and actual simping.
I felt the same way as you do.
So a simp is a guy who loves you truly? at least he's fighting for the relationship and it's the duty of a lover to cheer up his girl even if she's mad at him for the long time.
Not exactly, It's never wrong to praise your significant other or anybody in general. But a simp is more like someone who highly praises someone, but that someone doesn't even acknowledge them. So it's like you are fighting for someone who doesn't even care about you, that's a simp.

What is sugar dating? It sounds a little bit similar to it from what I googled on it. Where one person is paying for everything. So what if a guy likes a girl and does things for her, would you call it simps? The girl doesn't like you back and rejects you and you don't do things together again. Wouldn't you call it simps or something if she doesn't want you? Why do women call guys creeps and only after one thing when you are being there helpful to show the you care about the person.

I agree with what you said. I think that modern-day chivalry (it exists, yes) is confused with this term, “simp.” Men who simp are insecure.
