Help: my boyfriend doesn't like talking on the phone! What should I do?

Me and my boyfriend have busy schedules and are not able to meet everyday, so we talk on the phone. He calls me twice a day without fail everyday but our call duration is maybe only about 5 minutes. He has told me he doesn't like talking on the phone, instead talk face to face. I am a kind of person who talks for long time and I love to hear his voice.. But because he talks less, that bothers me... What should I do?

Everything on here sounds very male heavy. Have men ever took into consideration that maybe they need to put a little more effort into the relationship, by actually having a decent conversation with their girlfriend over the phone? When are men going to to have to work around what women need/want. All I ever hear/see are complaints that the girl is too clingy, or that she always wants to talk etc, but the truth is, if she wants more of you it's probably because she can tell you're not fully invested in the relationship and she's testing you to see whether or not she wants to keep trying with you or let go. Our society is built on pleasing the man and so it seems as though people have forgotten that a relationship is a partnership, 50/50. The only way people will stop worrying about what the opposite sex in the relationship thinks is to stop making gender excuses (like having a penis) let go of your skin deep stereotype BE A HUMAN BEING and fucking talk to eachother!!

None of my exes liked phone conversations, in fact the longest conversation I had on the phone with my ex was when we broke up lol. I think men prefer to text, at least from my experience :) Phone conversations with anybody for long periods of time can sometimes end up awkward and you run out of things to talk about. I don't think it means in any way he doesn't like talking to you though, I wouldn't take it personally :)

Maybe talk on the phone every other day so you want to hear eachother more and have more to talk about over that time frame and text the rest of the time? :)

I don't like talking on the phone either, it gets tedious and I run out of things to say. The only time I actually call to chat is when I need to speak to my mom, who's in another country.

I use the phone for short messages I need to relay to people, like letting them know I might be late or when can we meet for drinks or maybe invite a friend over, not spend hours blabbing.

Face to face is much better. Or at least via Skype or something.

Lots of people are saying guys prefer to text. Even the guys are saying that. But also the gals usually like to text. One reason given is not having enough to say on the phone. I grew up before cell phones and I never had trouble finding things to talk about!

But now, I notice people texting and often not answering/responding completely. I may ask a tow part question and by the time the other person answers one part they have forgotten the other part and moved the conversation to something else. I never have that problem on the phone.

And with the phone you can hear the inflections of the other person and understand the deeper meanings of all the conversation so much better. I see too many misunderstandings with texting. Society is losing the ability to really communicate. Texting threes people at once and not being fully engaged with any of them.

I prefer the phone.

Well done, you are dating a boy. Guess what? Boys often don't like to talk on the phone.

Other differences include - boys have a penis. They don't share their emotions easily. They will frequently retreat into an inner world where you are not invited, and they can see about 7 to 10 different colours.

Nothing because I've been notified, that most guys prefer to talk in person, so there is no misunderstanding. Why dont to talk once a day, and maybe the conversation will last longer?

There's some guys who prefer the texting more than talking on the phone. But there's also some who like it. I remember knowing a guy who talked like for three hours with his girl.
