He introduced me to his Mom, could he really be serious? Is that still a huge deal nowadays?

I consistently talk to this guy online most nights for a few months now. He said he likes me and he'll come to meet me soon. I like him too.

We would have really good, fun, and even sweet conversations, pretty much anything under the Sun topics, then some nights he won't seem chatty.. He'd end the conversation early, say he's sleepy, but I see him stay active on social media.

I'm not sure if he's serious with me, but one time I was surprised when he had me and his Mom video chat. He introduced me to his mom, and I really appreciated it. It just made me more confuse though. Could he actually be serious with me? Is it still a big deal for guys to introduce a girl to their parent/s (especially someone just from online), or was it like just introducing any other friend? What do you guys think?

In your situation (you guys aren't bf and gf *yet*) it was more of an introducing a friend thing. His probably really close to his mum (like best of friends type of relationship) and his mum might of been asking who his talking to all of the time. Its a good start. Maybe this connection you have with him may blossom into something. You never know. Just keep doing what you've been doing. Your doing a great job.

Thanks misscoffeehead. You're right. They probably just have that closeness and it's no big deal for him. I just thought it isn't really common that a guy would make his Mom and a girl vid chat like that, but I still probably shouldn't read too much of the gesture.. Was just curious..

Thats alright hun. If you were dating for a while and was talking to his mum on video chat then that would of been a serious move :) glad i could help

Most likely the mom said "who is that that you keep chatting to?" So she probably initiated. I wouldn't consider it a big deal until you actually meet her in person. Because at least for me, if my mom doesn't like you, your ass is out the door. May seem harsh but mama is my first lady and I love her so if she doesn't approve, sorry Charlie!

He said his Mom wanted to say hi, then he initiated that I vid chat with his Mom. He even called his Mom in the next room when he got the vid up. I just thought it isn't really a common thing, or is it? You're right though, shouldn't read too much into it.
