Did he really pocket dial me?

I recently got back in contact with an ex whom I did't speak to for a year. Long story short, I texted him to say happy birthday and then we started chatting a little (just in a friendly manner). A few days later, I got a missed call from him at 9:17pm. Two minutes later (9:19pm) he replied the previous messages that I sent at 9:09pm without mentioning anything about the call. I was reluctant to call him back since I found it very strange that he would call. So I texted him back the next day and asked if he called. I was quite disappointed because he told me it was just a pocket call. Wasn't it a bit too coincidental that he pocket called me right after I texted him and he also texted me two minutes later?

Some background info... We stopped seeing each other last year because of some misunderstanding. When I tried to apologize, he ignored me, and when he tried to reconcile, I ignored him back. I know this was really childish... At the beginning of the year, I called him a few times because I wanted to apologize but he never returned my calls. That's why I stopped contacting him completely.

It's possible it was a pocket dial, I've done the same thing before. I had a girls number in my phone that I used to go to high school with, I whip my phone out to make a phone call, and I see I dialed her number, and I hear her say hello *leaded to us dating a month later, so it was a good pocket-dial*. It's also possible it wasn't a pocketdial, he could've did that to see how you'd respond to it. So, maybe he wants to get back with you, maybe he doesn't, but, if you guys really broke up over a simple "misunderstanding", if you decided to go for round 2, who's to say the same thing won't happen again you know?

Aah, that was indeed a good pocket dial in your case :) I should have called him back! But I just didn't want him to feel that I am dying to get back with him (he thinks he's a ladies man and that his exes are all over him) and I was also a bit unsure how to react. When I sent him a happy birthday, my intention was just to be friendly, but I haven't been able to get over him after all this time actually. You're right about that... it won't be a good idea to get back together. I realize that but it's still really hard to get over someone you like so much, knowing he is just bad news.

Yeah getting over someone can be tough, you can get over him, or get back with him and more than likely go through the same thing you had to go through before, especially since he thinks he's a ladies man *means he's arrogant, and more often than not arrogant people don't change, they think it's everyone else that needs to change. that would explain him freaking out over a misunderstanding*. The fact you realize he's bad news for you is good, now you have to take that realization and apply it to your life, even if that means not talking to the guy anymore. There's no easy way to do it, no tricks to it, you just do it, then onceyou've done it take it one day at a time. I promise it gets easier each day, within a month you won't hardly think about him at all, and eventually you'll reach a pint even when you do think about him, it won't make you sad or anything. But.. you have to want to get over him, and you'vegiven me afew reasons why you should *arrogant/immature are 2*. Best of luck:)

Depending on his phone, you sending him a text may actually increase the chances that he will pocket dial you. because it shows your contact info, if he unlocks it on accident it will already be selecting your information.

I think he is using an iPhone and should have actually mentioned that we text via whatsapp. I just find it so strange that he texted me right after. Well, he probably accidentally dialed me and did not realize the call went through. I sometimes dial wrong numbers as well but only the numbers on my call log or people whose names start with a or z.

hmmm.. it seems to me that it is very possible that it was a pocket call:(. there's really no reason he'd deny calling you if he did. and it's also very possible to accidentally call someone, maybe not pocket dialling, but i tend to click on a contact and press call instead of "message". so don't think about it too much yeah, if he wants to call you he will eventually... all the best:)

I'm not so sure because he is a bit weird sometimes. For example, one time he asked me if I wanted to walk home with him, I rejected, then he pretended that he was not gonna wait for me anyway. But yeah... I'm probably just overanalyzing again. You're right. If he really wants to talk, he will eventually call. Thanks :)

Haha, I feel the same... but maybe he's really a butt dialer. The way it happened was just wayyy too coincidental. He never pocket dialed me when we were dating or for the past year, but why now? I don't want to overanalyze but considering his character and things in the past, I can't help thinking that he lied.

Guess it's his style. He doesn't like to lose face and quite immature. The most annoying thing is I will never know if he actually called :(
