Do you think Sigma males exist?

Question

We all know alpha males are the guys that are natural leaders of other men and women are attracted to them. 

Sigma males are guys that have many of the same traits/behavior of alpha males but the difference is that they do not want to lead other men even though they can. Sigmas are more like the lone wolf type of guys that don't always conform to society's standards. Some popular examples are James Bond, Wolverine, batman etc. 

Sigmas are more introverted and don't desire to have a huge circle of friends like most alphas do. But they still get girls nearly as easily as alphas do. A sigma male is the guy that shows up at a party with a girl no one has seen before, chats with a few friends for a few minutes and then leaves. They don't demand attention like most alphas do but they get it anyway. 

Do you know any guys like this or do you think this is bs?

To the " Best Answer" Individual, you couldn't be more wrong. We sigma's are just few and far between. See the losers you're referencing to are gammas who claim to be us but aren't.

The reasons Sigma's are so hard to come by is because most of us don't want to be found. Using our friends failed attempt at being an Alpha by putting down another group so quickly and under an anonymous name none the less, we actually are right in front of you but you never know...

Most of us are specialized in something outside the norm. Something not part of the hierarchy or rat race. These guys range from the smartest lab's to the most skilled firemen and cops over to special forces warriors. The way to put it is- Alphas represent kings and Sigma's represent warriors. We are in the shadows. We rather go to the movies alone or listen to a saxophone belt in the summer air and get lost in time and our thoughts then navigate through a crowd at some loud club. Most of us have two sides and depending on our experiences the vary extremes... We tend to be half nicholas sparks half stephen king. Nothing is too dark but once love comes into play there is no status that could love and care deeper than us. We rather mentally harm you then physically, I think following you for 2 days taking random pictures and sending them to your house in a blank manilla envelope is scarier then being punched in the face. Make no mistake though... Never push a Sigma to violence. Ever. "No one is stronger or more dangerous than a man who can harness his emotions, his past"- Act of Valor. Alphas control the room but we control the Alpha's. They do what they want until we step in. Then when we are comfortable with the environment again we hand power back over and go back to watching. James bond, The wolverine, Clint eastwood, Leonidas, all examples of Sigma's. Not alphas. We might not run the world... but we have always been the ones to change it.

Find a Sigma and hold onto him. You will never regret it. In tinder lingo- We are the perfect blend of nice guy and asshole.

I think this whole preoccupation with assigning the Greek alphabet to human male social behavior is silly. Humans don't live in wolfpacks. We're not elk. Our society is a lot more complex than that. It's almost comical to hear 20-year-old frat boys attempt to liken themselves to tribal warrior kings when most of them couldn't live without round-the-clock internet access and Hot Pockets.

In my experience, the guys who are preoccupied with this stuff have a need to prove themselves to other men. They need to show that they are badasses or toughguys or whatever, which doesn't bespeak high levels of self-confidence. In that way the whole thing is pretty ironic.

I knew a guy like that - see  I wouldn't label him as alpha/beta/etc. but he fits what you've described except was a bit louder than that. Basically didn't like most people but he was super attractive and confident so people liked him anyway. Like Wolverine. He was kind of like go away you irritate me (in actions more than words) to everyone except a few people.

A man who feels the need to label himself as "alpha" and others as "beta" downright bristles with deeply underlying insecurities and frustration.

at the risk of sounding egotistical, it sounds a bit like me. People tell me I'm charismatic, and I frequently reach those higher level brain waves where I am totally fearless. Anyone can do it. It just usually requires a fair degree of meditation, changing those inculcated brain patterns which are mostly orientated towards striving and affirmation, a sort of, social subservience. Of course, these are all subconscious, so most people aren't fully aware of what is going on within them. I have no interest in leading or being led, and have little time for hierarchy and power structures, even though I'm aware that there are situations for practical purposes I have to bend, such as my job. and try and have compassion for everyone. (I'd expand if I wasn't so cranky through starting a new job. I guess we're all human).

Yes, I am like one. I have qualities of true alphas but I live in the life of silence since i'm introverted. I don't like authority and I don't believe in the hierarchy, I do my own thing. People have found me quirky or confusing because I don't have to prove to anyone and they get mad for me for not revealing my true self or confirming. It sort of tough to be an authentic sigma male but it's sort of fun at the same time because I look for trouble and kinda get away with it. The downside is that you can't get out of this lifestyle like an alpha can because you are what you are.

I think it's just another meaningless label. I know plenty of pussies who slay mad poon, and plenty of badasses that don't even get any dates. When it comes to women it's really all about looks and material goods. How tough or smart you are has little to do with it. Lots of fat ugly guys get hot girlfriends, and plenty of good looking body builders are whining on forums now about how they can't get laid.

'Alpha male' is just a sophisticated term for a 'complete asshole'. So a 'sigma male' can be someone who is a bit less of an asshole than the alpha male!

I've never heard of that. im sure they do exist. not all guys can only fit into 2 boxes: alpha and beta. sigma guys seem ok but i do prefer guys who are a little more outgoing over an introvert but thats just me tho

Sigma males do exist, but its a moot point. Sigmas are islands unto themselves and only interact with society when they need to. Sigma's don't romanticize themselves or advertize their agendas.
