Are shy guys really less likely to cheat?

Be honest, is this a myth? I could envision circumstances where a shy guy would be just as likely to cheat as a more outgoing guy.

I'm very shy and a virgin, and sometimes I wonder about this aspect of myself.

Like, if I suddenly got a girlfriend, I would suddenly gain a VERY LARGE confidence boost - it's just what I'm like. And even though I'd like to think I would never cheat, it's worth mentioning that shy guys will become far more impulsive as a result of confidence boosts than regular guys. I think regular guys are more "stable" for lack of a better word; they might already be used to getting attention from women, whereas the shy guy might suddenly think he has superpowers and would get too excited.

I don't know. In any case, he is not LESS likely to cheat.

Well, shy guys have a difficult time talking to women so less opportunities are going to present themselves to cheat. Now, that isn't to say that shy guys are naturally more faithful, but chances are they will be more appreciative of the girl they are with when they are incapable of going out and grabbing other girls attention at the drop of a hat.

In all of my previous relationships, I have been cheated on twice and both times they were day guys. Maybe it's because they aren't used to getting attention and easily fall to temptation. Or maybe I was a shitty girlfriend. Lol I prefer option 1though

Shy people are just not used to other people in some places.  When you get to know them, they become more outgoing.. So I have to say.. No.. Outgoing and shy... I think the person is still the same..

I don't think it's related. If a man decide one day that he will cheat, it doesn't matter if he is shy or not. One woman is enough.

Let me put it this way, if a shy guy had to go trough so much trouble just to get a girl he will know the value of your love far better then someone who can bang anyone he wants.
Besides guys tend to be shy because they want to be the BEST for you and cheating does not fit in that picture.

A shy guy will gain confidence after he has sex with his love interest. So no. Shy people can totally be cheaters they just have a hard time getting to know others cause they are socially awkward. And shy people can be shy due to low self esteem or lack of confidence and may just be trying to get the best they can and then cheat when they can find someone better (more to their liking.)

shy guys are much less likely to 'chase' a girl they would like to cheat with, but they are equally likely to succumb to a girl who chases them - it's just that almost never happens.

It's a myth. Totally not true. I tell you this by experience, I'm a shy guy, and in one relationship, I was really close to cheat, if it wasn't because I didn't have enough time, I would've done it.
