What does it mean when your boyfriend puts his arm around your shoulder?

Back story to us:
-met online
-he lived 3 hours away
-months later he has now moved 5 mins away from me

we just had our first ever in-person meet up. we met at my place and played games and watched tv together. we were sat next to each other on the sofa watching tv and he asked if he could put his arm around my shoulder, I said yes. he then started gently rubbing/squeezing my shoulder and held my hand in his other hand, he was gently rubbing/stroking my hand too. I know this is a good sign in male behaviour, but im wondering if anyone knows what body language he was showing? do you think he likes me?
