My touchy feely boss touches everyone. Why?

What would make a guy so touchy feely?

But either he's just an emotional and caring person and he likes to feel in sync with everyone... Or he's a pervert and you have a right to give him a lawsuit.

It just depends on how you define "touchy feely". Is he the kind of guy that's up in your face when you talk, he looks directly into your eyes, and he really seems to care about all of you? Or is he the kind of guy that when he walks in he demands a hug, his hands will go in places they shouldn't, and you can catch him checking you or some of the other employees out?

Also if he tends to treat both the men and women the same then I'd say that's just the kind of guy he is.

I assume you feel uncomfortable about it? If you do, you most definitely need to report it. I bet everyone is afraid to stand up and report it but if you were to take the initiative to report it, I bet a lot of people would be appreciative of you. What he is doing is considered "sexual harassment" in the work environment and it is prohibited. I actually learned about it today for my job orientation.

I am uncomfortable. He's put his hand over my hand before and he's lead me by the wrist, to show me something. He did this in front of other guys too. Who knows what they think!!

Report him if you think it may be inappropriate. But some people feel like physical contact makes for a deeper connection, which may be a tactic your boss is using...

Touching someone on the hand, arm etc etc.
he touched my hand with his pinky Today.
He touches guys in just the same way

If he treats everyone - guys and girls - the same way, I'd say yeah he's just a touchy feely person. I don't understand it myself, but some people are just like that. If it makes you uncomfortable, you should tell him that and he should respect that. Just tell him you like your personal space and it always makes you uncomfortable when people touch you unless they're specifically invited too, nothing personal.

If he touches everyone, male or female, regardless of age... then it's just in his personality to pat people on the back and shoulder. It's a way some people like to personalize their motivation style in a work environment.
