Should guys ever show vulnerability to girls?

Guys showing vulnerbility could often lead to things like having a deeper connection with a girl. Sure.

But, not to sound misogynistic, should a guy really, even attempt to give a girl THAT much power in a relationship? I've dated girls who responded to vulnerablity very well but it was after a year of not showing them any or minimal vulnerability from me. I've also date girls where I showed it and they "liked it", but the thing is, they started acting different around me. Almost like, they shifted their view of me as THE GUY.

Is it worth the risk in the beginning? I mean, guys (just like girls) could really develop some MAJOR trust issues if the guy wrong about the girl. If anything, I feel it hits a guy harder on some levels.

I feel that they shouldn't. At least earlier on in the relationship. I feel even though a small percentage of girls "like it", I think a big majority of girls, in actuality don't "respond to it" very well, even if they think that they would. I feel most girls respond better to a guy who chooses to show her his "masculine side" for a while first.

Not going to lie, some girls are going to feel less attracted to you after you show them your vulnerable side, but frankly, such girls are probably not worth your time anyway. I find it endearing when a man trusts me enough to share his feelings, it makes me feel closer to him and want to care about him, but only as long as it doesn't turn into constant complaining and whining. I consider myself a strong person, some things may make me feel down, but I usually get my shit together and suck it up after letting myself feel sad for a little while, and I expect my partner/friend/whatever to do the same. If a guy just looks to play a victim instead of putting effort into changing things that affect him in a negative way, that's a big turn off (unless he's dealing with something serious, like depression).

I want to feel like you trust me enough to let me in. I don't want to feel like an outsider in your world. That's why you should show your vulnerable side once in a while. Then first time my best friend showed me his vulnerable side I was so happy because then I knew that he trusted me and cared about me enough to want to let me in. It didn't make me think or feel any differently about him. I lied. It did. It made me feel closer to him. That's all I could ask for.

It would be fantastic and very healthy if we could be like that but I don't think it's good at the start and you still have to be careful later on. I tried just being real before and expressing myself, I figured girls like a sensitive guy, they seem to respond well but it looks like it changes their image of me. The emotional openness can bring me closer as a friend but at the same time make me less attractive and push me away as a suitor. Basically I become sort of friend-zoned. It's like I'm "just one of the girls" or something and trying to break out from that position is virtually impossible, because at that point I can only come out either looking like a pathetic suitor or just a good friend, never an attractive suitor.

For God's sake no man. They will say otherwise, but women's actions are constantly the opposite of what comes out of their mouths. If we were talking in real life and one was listening I would say, "of course.. blah blah.. whoopty woo". But in all reality, no man. Never. Girls have tons of their own insecurities and problems. They want from a man someone who is going to make life easier and funner. The last thing they want is to find out you're as fucked up as they are. And I don't care how pretty she is. She's messed up, dude.

I believe vulnerability to the majority of women is perhaps showing extreme sadness or remorse to a particularly afflicting situation, but it can't be consistent, nor can it come off as "whining."

The sad truth of it is guys are just more flexible with what they can find attractive when it comes to this kind of thing. Girls want the man to show "man" emotions until it hits a certain point.

It's why I think it's important nowadays more than ever for heterosexual men to be more emotionally intimate with each other, cause in my experience if you have good enough buddies, you can say ANYTHING and they won't give you shit for it if they realise just how troubling it is to you. Women aren't really as good at understanding that kind of thing, in my experience.

I personally don't unless it is really hard time... Girls may say differently, but they still want a guy they can depend on and be solid. That doesn't mean he has to be complete rock of emotions, but he still needs to be much more stable.
