Why would a guy go offline after you message him?

Honestly he feels awkward around me and he needs to get over it.

Maybe he is too shy.
Maybe he has cancer and doesn't want people to worry about him.

I thik I didn't write the question properly. He wasn't online when I messaged him.

An hour or so later he came online and disappered when I was also coincidentally online.

Many of my real close buddies started thinking that i'm a big fucking jerk because i have an unstable stupid Internet connection. It made me ignore their messages right after they send them to me. I feel like Internet hates me and want me to lose my friends.

I don't really wanna judge people just by the virtual world. It sucks and it makes you question some behaviors or mistrust your friends and that's not good because you can't see what could be happening around them. If i were you, i would shrug it off. Real life is what really matters. Now why does he act awkward around you? Could be that he's a really shy guy and act awkward around everybody? Or maybe it's just your mind? Could also be that he really likes you which makes him uncomfortable around you. Try to be nice and easy going with him and also try to not force things with him. He might shy away or get intimidated by your awesomeness or your confidence.

Could be he was getting off at the same time you were sending a message. I've done that before. Other times I've closed it when she wrote something because I wasn't really in the mood for talking. Not because it was with her, but I just wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone and would rather not spend 5 hours talking to a girl when I wasn't in the mood to even talk to my own mother.

You just sent him a smiley face? There's 2 options. 1, he got offline right when you sent the message and didn't see it. 2. He saw the message, doesn't like you, and logged off. So don't get mad at him for logging off.

No no lol he wasn't online when I sent it to him, the next hour when he came online, he just logged off when I was on.
