I too am blunt and have discovered that a lot of people simply cannot handle it.
I get told I'm opinionated (isn't everyone? we all have opinions), or I'm "way too high above them with that".
If I use my actual learned vocabulary I get blank stares, hostile looks (As if I'm insulting them with words) or outright angry responses.
I don't sugar coat anything, I don't like to have anything sugar coated with me, cut through all the bullshit and get down to brass tacks. It's from being raised in a military culture upbringing. Mom didn't bullshit me and I don't bullshit others.
I have to honestly ask if I approach a woman and say "I think you're attractive and would like to take you out" offends women because I've gotten some... varied reactions: laughter, appreciation, befuddlement, and then there are the "too white for me" or "why do you talk like that?" reactions.
Had to learn to filter my words, now I rarely speak at all unless comfortable with the person I'm around.

ok it is much more complicated then that. I am also very blunt and I have also been described as quip. please whatever you do just stop say "i would wreck her" because that is sexually harassment and you can be sued for that. It is good to be truthful most of the time. Just don't be rude and I know that it is a child's saying but if it would offend you then don't say it to someone else because it is probably pretty rude and will keep your friends away.
well, I never say things that I know will hurt people even if its the truth or its how I feel. but people are really blunt and super rude when it comes to me even when I am nice to them. that's how it always was like with me... then one day I decided to be more blunt and honest with people.
now everybody doesn't like me.. ;)
does anyone like the new shay?
it's good to be honest/blunt as long as you're not trying to intentionally step on anyone's feelings. also, yeah saying something like that out loud to a girl is never usually appreciated though, or socially acceptable for that matter lol
i can be, depending on how u use it. if u totally stuff it up then it comes off the wrong way, but even then, sometimes it's just the best thing to do in the moment.

Well I've had several people tell me that's what they like about me. But I also know it pisses people off. It's a matter of finding some limits and not going too far with it. You don't HAVE to say something every single time. So just try to reign it in a little.
I've started to be blunt as well. I am removing my filter in order to find the people I can truly connect with. This obviously creates a lot of haters.
Be as blunt as you like, just remember that a lot of people are wimps and prefer the "politically correct" version of what you have to say.Being blunt is good but not always.
The example you gave about relationship advice, that was good. Bluntness is good in that situation. As long as you're not offending or hurting anyone then it can be a good thing, in the sense that you're honest.
Blunt =/= rudeBeing blunt is a good or bad thing, depending on the person.
If being blunt is just who you are, then stick with it.Same... I don't know, does more bad than good for me.
Sharp object> blunt object
Lol it has its uses. But I personally think people confuse it. They're blunt and mean. Being just honest and straightforward blunt is ok tho.Being blunt and being a rude jerk to people are two different things. I prefer the first one.
If you're hot, it's a good quality.
If you're average or below, it's annoying.Just don't overly do it and have some kinda sense while being blunt
It all depends on how you use your bluntness. It can come off bad or good
Saying that out loud is not being blunt, it's being a creep.
Not if you're doing it in a mean way
