Now this is a question that hits home for me and possibly all of us, is there a difference between being honest and being blunt?
People claim it’s the same thing and others claim there’s a difference.
So explain yourself and your opinion , this can be a no holds bar debate, so anything goes so as weapons, eye gouging, flame throwers and even tossing a microwave counts as acceptable weapons.

Is there a difference between being honest and being blunt?
Yes, there is. These terms are not mutually inclusive.
You can be blunt without being honest. You can ask me how your hair looks (in this scenario, it truly looks nice), and I can give you a curt, but not necessarily honest response (e. g., "it looks bad").
You can be honest without being blunt. Following an inverse of the that example: You ask me how your hair looks (in this scenario, it truly looks bad), and I respond with, "listen, I'm not trying to be offensive, but this hairstyle doesn't suit you as much as the previous one did."
Bottom line: Being blunt simply means that I express myself tersely and without much regard for how I've phrased things. One can be blunt, but dishonest. One can be bluntly honest. One can be tactful, but still honest.
I personally find it irritating when people use "honesty" and "being direct" as an excuse for rudeness. Sometimes, there is cause for being blunt - when, for example, none of the more politely phrased attempts at honesty have had any effect and it is an important enough issue to risk hurting the person's feelings. Otherwise - it is not dishonesty if you refrain from calling your friend ugly, or keep some of your other nasty thoughts contained. It's called being civilized.
I think they are basically the same concept but there is a difference in how it is said. Honesty can be delivered sweetly, softly, in a more caring manner where being blunt is delivered in a sharper, ruder, more aggressive manner. Honesty is just about telling the truth where being blunt is getting straight to the point, without concern for the other's feelings.
Blunt just means your responses or your opinions are not lengthy. You state your point and you're done. Honesty doesn't have to be blunt. Bluntness doesn't have to be honest. If my wife asks me if I like her new haircut, I can say, "Yes, it looks good." This is blunt and (hopefully) honest. I could also say, "Wow, honey, the way it frames your face really accentuates your eyes and makes your features stand out. I think this is a fantastic hairstyle for you." That isn't blunt, but it's still honest. This is a problem of simple definitions of vocabulary.
Yes, you can be honest in a kind way or you can be blunt in a dickish way. Honesty doesn't need to be offensive, even when it's not what someone wants to hear. You can say that someone is overweight, when they ask you, rather than saying "Yes, you're hideously obese".
Some people hide behind so called honesty as an excuse to be a dick to people. They think it's something to be proud of, that they always 'say it how it is'.
A lot of people pride themselves for the honesty. Sometimes girls call themselves a “bitch” as if it’s a good thing. There is a fine line between being honesty, and being an asshole. Some people need to learn to be more in the middle.
You can say things that might seem true to you but aren't necessarily the truth. So you may be honest being blunt yet hurtful but you could be wrong and hurt someone.
Of course there's a difference. You can be honest and say what you have to say while considering the person's feelings, or you can be honest and not care about how you say things.
Being blunt can be classified as being unnecessarily curt or hurtful when giving your opinions or stating facts (basically not being mindful of the other persons feelings when you speak... not that you have too)
