Is being Direct To the Point a good thing?

I figured out what I wanted from a relationship at 22. Deep genuine connection and I been telling women that are my age and older and been ghosted. I’m autistic and I can’t for the life of me work into a conversation that entails I want a relationship I just have to say it cause I battle myself enough to know that I wouldn’t ask if otherwise any advice would be surely appreciated I really want a partner the dream is to have a great wife and kids and now that I consider myself catholic. I was made for love the same as everyone else.

Yes. I've personally seen people waste WAY too much time being indirect, imprecise and unfulfilled. What a shame.

Having said that, while I consider myself to be SUPER blunt, honest and direct, it has to be safeguarded with empathy and tact. (I know that on G@G I'm very terse in answering some questions, however in real life there has to be mutual tact and consideration of each other's feelings... and no false claims or promises.)

Being direct is good. Where you might be missing it a little is in stating the goal rather than the initial steps towards it.

So rather than imagining what that relationship is like at the end, imagine what it is like at the beginning. Start there. What is a genuine connection for you? Stopping to send a funny meme or fact to the other person? Whatever you boil it down to, look for those things.

Telling someone you're after the dream soulmate thing is endearing and sweet but they now have to mentally live up to that. So if you instead reign it in and decide where to start, someone you can talk to AND have fun with? That'll be easier.

All of that said, being upfront and direct is good. But be upfront about step 1, not step 30.
