What does it mean when a guy calls you homie?

I've been kinda talking to this guy I go to school with and I like him. We flirt sometimes but I just hate that's he's horrible at texting and he keeps apologizing for being bad. He calls me homie tho sometimes and I'm not too sure what that means. Also how can I be more attractive and like able?

You're a friend. He's comfortable with you. If he's bad at texting, then trying hanging out with him more. Try calling each other.
