So the thing is that the guy I like doesn't follow me on instagram, and I don't follow him either. However he does follow a lot of girls that I know. So I'm too afraid to follow him first. But could it be, that he was too afraid to follow me too? Or is it like that if a guy likes a girl, he will follow her?

well I followed my crush first and he followed back after so I don't think that he doesn't like you, it might just be that he doesn't know your instagram or is to shy to ask. I say you should just follow him first.

Instagram, along with most other social media is totally fake. It offers no indication with how people actually feel. Just follow him first. He probably doesn't even know you have Instagram.
