My crush is emotionally unstable?

So, I spoke to my teacher about my crush. She said that two emotionally unstable people cannot date and she would not tell me why he was emotionally unstable. What does it mean when guys are emotionally unstable? Does it mean that he is fresh out of a bad relationship or something really bad happened in his life?

either, I will say this. I consider myself emotionally unstable, but I loved my ex very much. We were together 3 years before she got tired, and I appreciate everything she did for me. It is not something that can be easily fixed, but it is something most guys suppress. In the end it just becomes worse. It is something you have to be prepared for. I wanted to do everything I could to make my ex happy, but we were long distance for a long time. Having been cheated on thrice it was very hard no being paranoid or anxious. As long as he cares and you will put in the effort he will see it. However it might wear you out and if you mean anything to him he will work through it. It took me losing my ex to get me moving finally. The cost was too high.
