Why does he play wrestle with me and then not make a move? And why does he keep doing this?

So there is this guy that I have known since high school and I always had a huge crush on him. And apparently it was obvious to everyone but us that we both liked each other. He never stayed single long enough for me to ever tell him how I felt anyway. And fast forward a couple years and we still hang out and talk all the time. Well a few weeks ago we were hanging out watching movies and all of a sudden he starts play wrestling with me. And I won't lie, I really like play wrestling/fighting, I loved being pinned and thrown around (within reason) 😊. Well he's 6'2 and a marine so clearly I never stood a chance and he's far to competitive to let me win anyway. He literally could have tried anything (I probably would have let him lol) I also think he knows how I feel about him. We were hanging out for about 5 hours and we spent maybe around 4 hours play wrestling. But he never made a single move!!! He never tried anything! And granted I didn't try to make a move either (stupid me). Why wouldn't he make a move? And he keeps going back and forth on whether he likes me as just a friend or as more then a friend. Any advice?

Sounds like he doesn't want to ruin what you have being the one who expresses his feeling first. like you said, either of you could of made a move, but were most likely looking for a sign in the other person to do it. Tippically situation like these stay friends until one finally gets the courage to say or do something and then thing start to take a turn for the amazing.

He may just not want to ruin what there is between you two. However it is clear that he does love you, that doesn't always mean romantically but it can be.

He might be currently dating someone else or he might want to keep you around as a friend or he just thought you might reject him.

Maybe he is nervous about taking it the next step because he is afraid you'll reject him
