what does that mean? Should we ladies, just take it at face value or that could be a sign of interest as well? Is it usual for a guy to say that?

I personally would say it's normal for a guy to say that to a friend, but that does mean he cares about you. Whether it's just platonic or not can't really be understood from the sentence
