Guy sends WhatsApp message after midnight?

So this guy I'm really good friends with sent me a message at around 1am. It was an image with a joke. And the next morning he texted asking if I liked what he sent my last night. I know late night texts are bootycalls but does this fit the category? This guy and I are close and we often flirt and whatnot but he's in a long term relationship so nothing happened. What should I make of it?

I wouldn't think that only because of the fact that the message was sent at night it is a booty call. Maybe he was just browsing memes and found something funny and wanted to share right away. I think that it should have some flirty sexy hints in it for it to be considered booty call.

I'm not making a big deal but there are certain rules to texting people... appropriate hours. And 1am is hardly a good time to send a random meme to a friend. I wouldn't dare send a message that late to a family member, unless is die or live situation. Just sayin.

Texting rules? Then i must be really rude because i text people whenever i feel like it. And you said you are close friends so i figured you talk/text on the daily. Also i think the apropiate hrs for texting are bs. It's just a text, if the person is bussy or sleeping they will just reply to it when they can. It's not that disturbing. I agree on not calling someone randomly late at night because they actually have to respond. But texting is fine in my opinion
