Why is he deliberately avoiding eye contact?

This really sociable, outgoing and seemingly confident guy is avoiding all eye contact with me to the point where you can see it is unnatural. For example, I was talking to his friend and he ran up to us, stood right in front of me but never once looked at me even though we barely know each other and we have only made small talk once so I have done nothing to offend him? He also was handing out peaches to everyone but me and when my friend said that maybe I would like one he froze up and didn't come up to give one to me. wtf? He also haven't said hi multiple times even though he was standing near me or running towards my direction but not greeting me while passing me by. I am so confused as I have done nothing for this seeming dislike. any opinions on what might be going on lol?

why would he be afraid? I'm a really nice person and I'm friendly with everyone. In fact, I'm a bit timid myself.
