Was my boss being a little creepy?

I recently started a new job. I’m home for winter break from college and decided to find a job so I can make some money for Christmas and just in general.

I have this boss who I really can’t tell how old he is. He seems pretty young but I wanna say in his mid 30s. He’s really nice to me which is expected. He asks me about myself and tells me stuff about himself. I’ve known to jump to conclusions but some situations I also know that I’m right about.

I don’t know if this is flirting exactly but I think it was a compliment. He needed my ID today so I showed him my license and he saw the picture and was like “look at that big ole cheesin smile” then I laughed. Afterwards he was like “it’s always good to have a nice smile on your ID, mines looks like I’m half dead”.

I’m not uncomfortable around him I just don’t want it to get to that point. Was he saying I had a nice smile?, I didn’t get that part. I’m 19 by the way.
