KIK on Boyfriend’s Phone?

Does anyone have experience of KIK and what it is used for?

My boyfriend got a new phone a couple of weeks ago and the other night I asked to have a look at it as I’m thinking of upgrading.

On there I saw an app called KIK tucked away in a folder. He was sat right next to me so I asked him what it was and he just said a really old messaging platform then took his phone from me.

I found it odd that at that point he wanted his phone back. It made me wonder what exactly the app was.. so I googled. Loads came up about it being an app used for sex chats and flirting. I asked boyfriend about it and he said that’s rubbish, he’s not used it for years and I’m being paranoid.

So, maybe I was being paranoid, but I downloaded the app and created a very quick and anonymous profile. I also managed to find my boyfriend on there as he used the same username as he used for dating apps (we met online 12 years ago). His profile picture was a fairly recent one though - taken 2-3 years ago, so whilst he’s been with me.

It could all be so innocent but from my account overnight I have had 3 guys messaging me for random chats - one asked me if I was interested in exchanging pictures/nudes. So it feels seedy as hell.

I’ve also checked out my boyfriend on there again this morning and his profile picture has now been removed - can’t help but wonder why do that as soon as I’ve noticed he has that app.

So, my question is, has anyone got experience of this app and can say if it’s totally innocent and I’m being mega paranoid, or have I got reason to question his motives?

Thanks
