How come my Kik message is a light D?

I kik my boyfriend and its on a light D all day today but I know he has his phone on him! How come its on light D? Plus he didn't block me and also, the other day i recieved his message that was suppose to be sent the same night, the next day. What is going on? Does anyone else has this problem?

Kik icon definitions:

S - Your message has been sent

D - Your message has been delivered but not read

R - Your message has been received and read

He got your message but he didn't open up your chat message. There's no problem with it.

Thats a dark d which mean he was on his phone and he has gotten the notification. I am talking about a light d which means it sent but he hasn't gotten the notification yet.

The "D" means that it was delivered to the other person, but not opened. If it was opened, it would be marked with an "R" for read.
