Do guys (or even girls) pretend not to remember things about their crush?

I’ve been talking to this guy for about a year now. Sometimes he remembers the tiniest detail of something I did or told him, then at times he forgets some of the most obvious things. He recently asked “so what are you studying in Uni?”, even though we talked extensively about this a month ago. He then asked my zodiac sign, again, we talked a lot about this cause we both have the same sign lol. I honestly thought it’d be something he would remember…

I myself may not remember absolutely everything I talk about, but he forgets, or at least pretends to forget the things we talk most about. Is that normal?
