A guy told his friends that he has a crush on me but isn’t acting on it?

A couple of months ago i went to my friend’s wedding, and through mutual friends there was this guy who saw me and briefly talked to me. Later when i went home my girl best friend who is also his best friend told me that he told her about me and that he had a crush on me as well as his other guy best friend. He followed me on all social medias but he has never made an effort to contact me in any way. Unless we would go out as a group which i met him in multiple occasions after that wedding. Another problem is that my other girl bestfriend has the biggest crush on him and told everyone (him included) and whenever we are out as a group she is always trying to talk to him and sitting next to him and i never try to talk to him because she has been very vocal about it. But i’m also worried that he thinks that I don’t like him, i’m just silent and try to avoid him for the sake of my bestfriend. I’ve also never been in a relationship and i’m very shy and it’s not very common for me to like someone and for them to like me back so i feel sorry for myself that i might be missing an opportunity here but i’m also not sure that he likes me?

Might be shyness. I had a crush on this girl I worked with 10 years ago and I told a bunch of people I liked her. I didn’t act because of fear of rejection and being shy. There’s also times I didn’t act on certain females I liked because I was going through rough times and didn’t wanna get upset if I didn’t get the outcome I had wanted.

He doesn’t but he knows she likes him because she told everyone. Whenever we go out she goes to him and never leaves his side. And she always messages him and i always let her be and distance myself. From his perspective i might seem uninterested but it’s just that i can’t with my friend being literally obsessed.
