I don't disagree - but to be fair, golddiggers of either sex are usually pretty obvious and transparent about their motivations. They just count on the other person to be so desperate for a partner that they'll ignore all the warning signs. But the warning signs are almost always there - sometimes they're so obvious they might as well be lit up with neon! If you don't protect yourself when those red flags are waving, then you have to accept part of the blame too.

i work around lots of poor men. Trust me, there is no shortage of men gold diggers. Women are unlikely to date down which is why you never hear a rich woman complaining about gold diggers. Men enjoy dating down which is why men complain about gold diggers so much

@shaysh87 Mostly true, but if a man is really good-looking (9+ out of 10), there are a lot of women who will date them and even knowingly let themselves be taken advantage of financially. Granted, there's not a lot of men (in relative terms) who are that good-looking, and even most of them aren't looking to steal women's money (usually, they just want casual sex), so this isn't especially common, but it does exist.

I have experience working with poor men. I can tell you this. It really has nothing to do with looks. 98% of male gold diggers are POOR men. Typically if a man has an average salary and isn't struggling to get by, he's not gonna be a gold digger. Women are more likely to be gold diggers but it doesn't mean there is a shortage of male gold diggers either.

At my job, men dream about having a "sugar mama" all the time. It is their dream to sit at home, play video games all day, get free sex, drive race cars. Literally these are the only things on a guys mind: money, sex, video games, cars alcohol).

The only difference is that men tend to be more realistic and understand that the chances of coming across a sugar mama is almost impossible (Because they know that men are supposed to be providers. They know rich women do not pay any attention to broke men). So they are more likely to keep these thoughts to themselves rather than to obsess over it. Men are taught by society early on that men should be providers rather than takers.

Because the truth is, marrying for money comes at a huge cost. Its not fun to be a married to a man that you don't love , because you can't survive on your own.
