How can a guy become more comfortable shirtless around girls? I'm a guy and this summer I will be doing more outdoor activities like tennis, frisbee, running, etc with some friends that includes girls. I want to get a tan this year but am shy about being shirtless in front of girls. How can I become more comfortable without a shirt while hanging out with them? Should I ask if they are ok with me taking it off? Would it be better to wear it for a while and take it off after a little bit or just start out without it? Any help and encouragement is appreciated!

think about it this way:
do you like to watch girls topless? i assume you generally do. and i guess it also depends on how attractive she is.
girls are more or less the same as us. if you are really unattractive, they might enjoy it less, and if you are ripped, they will probablt complain if you put the shirt back on.
but keep one thing in mind - just like us, some of them prefer non ripped bodies, so even if you are feeling self conscious about your body, they are probably fine with how you look.
im on the other hand, dont have a problem with taking my shirt of because of what they think, but because i dissapoint myself because i used to be in better shape (nothing amazing, but just dropped beneath my red line)

hey i hear ya dude. used to be shy with that too. also, when i was 18 i feel like my chest hair grew overnight made me more self conscious.

2 things: don't make a big deal of it and ease into it. if you're in a group, don't be the first and don't be the last to take your shirt off.

also, be a little fit. when i worked my pecs and biceps i got compliments and then wasn't so worried about summer hanging with my shirt off.

This is one of those things where as long as you don't bring attention to it, it won't be as big a deal as you think. They may take notice and think whatever they think, but ultimately they won't care. On top of that, you're a guy, embrace that freedom of being able to be topless and not get tackled by police for it.

I think you should leave it on at first. Then you start to get hot, take it off. You shouldn't feel weird about going shirtless in front of girls. YOU'RE A GUY dude, you're allowed!

The only way to conquer fear is to conquer fear. Take your shirt off. Do it enough, you will get used to it, they will to.

Try and go swimming a lot, no one is gonna question you having your shirt off at the pool. Or, take it off. If someone asks, say you are trying to get a tan...

Start working on your v line. Women like guys that look like superheroes so you need to work on your upper body. Be consistent and your confidence will rise because your body will change. Research and hit the gym. I started with pullups because the more pain you go through the faster you will see results

Well you can workout and develop a good physic to feel confident.
Alternatively, just do it. It's harder if you feel self conscious, but you can do it. It's normal for guys to walk around at the beach without a shirt.

Get a good physique. Work on getting abs. a lot of people will bullshit you & tell you its all about confidence and all that other garbage. You'll feel better & knowing that women are attracted to abs, will give you a confidence boost
