Guys, Do you feel bad when you upset a girl?

My one guy friend upset me and I think he knows it he never saw me cry or anything but I haven't talked to him in about a week. Today I saw him at work we made eye contact but I didn't say anything to him or look at him after the initial eye contact I did say hi to his coworkers since I know them too. I saw out of the corner of my eye he stared at me when I was walking out saying bye to everyone but him. I know he knows he upset me but I can't tell if he feels bad or was confused or really what's going on.

It kind of depends on whether I feel like I crossed a line. Sometimes people get offended over the most trivial things, or by mistaking my intentions. There I might try to make them feel better still but I don't feel bad. If I was truly out of line though, I feel bad and will apologize. I can't apologize for something where I truly think I did nothing wrong.

I see comedians making jokes that managed to offend some small 1% or so of people while 99% find it funny, for example, and I disapprove of them apologizing for it. If they apologize, that sends the message that no one should attempt to make a joke that has any chance of offending even one person in a hundred, or one in a thousand.

From a basic empathy standpoint, I feel bad if anyone is upset even if it was someone else that did it. Here I'm talking more about feeling guilty.

Maybe you should grow up and talk to him and tell him what upset you.

I feel bad making anyone upset. Im sure he knows but isn't sure how to confront you about it since you are avoiding him. Make the first step to let him know about it if it bothers you.
