Does double texting make you look desperate?

I've been seeing this guy for two weeks and he really is into me. Yesterday I texted him, he didn't reply, a few hours later I texted him again ''well, I'm going to cancel our plan.'' this morning he texted me, he apologized, he told me what was going on while I was waiting and it was 150% believeable. I know I wasn't desperate and I know I am not desperate, but I'm genuinely wondering if double texting makes you look desperate. Example:
- '' I'm going to wait for you at 9 pm tonight!''
a couple of hours later: ''well, I guess I'm going to cancel this.''
should one generally wait for the other person to reply after the first text? I'd really like to know how guys perceive this because I've always wondered.. thanks.

You’re at that level where you have to worry about things like that why don’t you just call him on the telephone sounds like an insecure relationship knowing that if you text him twice that’s a problem. When I have a girlfriend we talk every single day and it doesn’t matter who calls first we just talk. Sometimes it could be like seven phone calls from her it doesn’t matter I always enjoy them

No, and I wouldn't worry about minute details like that. Being interested and communicating well (which is what that was) is not being desperate.

I don't think so. I enjoy when guys double text. It shows interest in the conversation. I also double text a lot.

So hopefully it's not viewed as desperate.
