He spoke with me and asked for my number at work. Then after two days when leaving the job said I’ll talk to you but he still didn’t? Will he message?

He initiated the conversation and asked how old I was, how old I think he is, what my background is etc and then asked me to give him my number so I can talk to him if I need help or I’m around etc. And he texted me to save the number. We worked together for another two days then he was leaving the job and he came to say bye and said ‘ I will talk to you’. But I still haven’t heard from him. Will he message me? Or why did he mention talking to me again?
