There’s this guy at work who I’ve been told thinks I’m hot but is really shy, I heard that he would only go for a girl if he knew she was interested first. But I don’t want to gossip and have him find out through others, would a direct approach work? Or would I most likely be shut down?

1. Best not to mess around at work. It causes too many problems.

I have had very bad experiences when it some to dating coworkers and that is why I no longer do it. Since then I have cut down on the workplace drama and agitations. Also , it just looks unprofessional. Anyways , how do you know he likes you? What if he reports you to HR and you get in trouble?

2. Asking a man directly for sex is weird.

In my life time I have been been directly propositioned by women for sex several times and I always say no ( I am not making this up). From my perspective a women that makes a directly proposition for sex just might be off her rocker a little - it could also be some kind of police sting or a criminal honey trap or some kind of black mail attempt.

That depends on whether he's the type of guy who is interested in a relationship or a conquest. In all probability, you'll be coming across too forward, and he'll see it as a turn-off. Even if he agrees to have sex with you, it will create an awkward situation at work, and he's unlikely to be interested in seeing you long-term.
