While there are plenty of men who stand up for women - especially in the real world where they risk immediate violent retaliation - without any ulterior motive, there has been a huge growth in "men" white-knighting, especially online, because they are looking to score sexual brownie points. This is particularly true for SJW types/"male feminists". I'm not sure if it's EVER worked out for them, but it doesn't stop them from doing it. Clearly they don't understand that they are making everything WORSE - even for the women they think they are protecting.

For any guy guilty of doing this, just know that it's NEVER going to get you a girl. If there is the slightest hint that you have an ulterior motive (and remember, women are much more perceptive about this), then she is not going to respect you, and her vagina will be dry. Moreover, her ego will be further inflated, and that's not good for anyone.

Society is already in a terrible state because women are almost always protected and bailed out of the consequences of their choices and actions. What they need is to face those consequences and deal with them on their own, and this is especially true online. I don't mean you should stand by and watch some man beat her, but then again, the white knight types rarely get physically involved - they mostly just yell in crowds or online. If a woman uses her words and gets herself in trouble, then she needs to use her words to get herself out trouble, even if it means admitting that she was wrong. She doesn't need your help, especially if she can't defend her position with facts.

You cannot negotiate the world based on your feelings - the world will crush you and you will be miserable. Facts, even facts you don't like, must be the basis of dealing with the world, and how you build your worldview.
