My guy friend and I were hanging out at a bar and he walked over and put my hood up and said I looked like a badass and he thought I looked cute. Later he told me we will never be close friends. I asked him about this after and said it kinda hurt my feelings. I also reminded him I've said we didn't have to be friends if he didn't want. He said he doesn't mean to come off that way, he just didn't want to have the friend talk. He also said he likes how things are between us. I said I do too I just think it'll always be a little complicated and he said he knows what I mean. We texted for a couple of hours and then he said “well, it's bed time for me…. working sucks.” Then we both said goodnight. What does he want from me/why does he do and say these things?

I one time told a female friend at the end of hanging out, "Look, we cool and all, and I like spending time with you. But I have to be real with you, I want that CAT. Are you going to give it to me?"
She said no. I said, "Cool, see you later." We still hung out, but I was looking for other girls to date. We were still friends, but I want some CAT sometimes, and need to find someone else for it.
So it's purely sexual? Or he's attracted to me? I'm just so confused. He also always gives me hugs and squeezes me so tight it's hard to breathe. He always tells me "you're so little!" when he hugs me. He always brings up the day we met and lately he asks if I remember that day. I really don't understand his comment about us never being close friends and saying he has enough. And what does he mean by not wanting to have the friend conversation? I'm very laid back, but I also prefer straightforwardness, even if it's harsh.
Well, the only thing you can do is ask him out on a real date.

Why would he make the comment that he has enough friends? He also asked me what I want and said I'm too scared of shit. He's made this comment before. I don't know what he wants from me. If I'm honest, I like the guy. It's not that easy though, so I've never admitted it.

in my opinion, if it upsets you, then it's no good. If you have told him that, and he still does it, it's time to cut ties.

I messaged him and explained that I sometimes feel like I'm just an ego boost for him. He sent three messages saying he's not sure what I'm talking about but he's so busy at work right now he doesn't know what to say. He said the job he's at is going to crap and he's stressed out. Then his last message he put “give me some time, it's stressful!” I'm confused what he means. Give him time for what? I didn't ask for his time.
