Is it possible for a man to wear a modest dress or skirt and maintain a healthy level of masculinity?

I have recently seen several questions and polls asking about men wearing dresses and/or skirts. And, many men who say they do (or would) is because it makes them feel (or want to feel) more feminine. But, I don’t have any interest in feeling or appearing more feminine per se, but rather, I would like to wear simple t-shirt or long sleeve dresses and knee length or longer skirts and still present myself as a straight man without any confusion or question of who I am. I want to wear them because of the fact they appear to be far easier and far more comfortable than “mens clothes”, not as a gender identity expression.

It's going to look gay as hell and you should already know that. If you do it, you know what you are getting into. Whether you agree with it or not is irrelevant. That's not going to change what people think of it.

I wear a robe around the house, especially in winter. A robe is not really much different than a dress. But that difference is huge in the way people perceive it.

People throw around words like "social construct", as if something is not important if it falls into that category. But realistically all social animals have a collective acceptance or non-acceptance of what others in the collective do. Humans are no exception.

The collective acceptance is not going to be positive about this.

Ahhh, but social constructs can be changed. There is nothing saying that this can't be changed into something accepted by the collective.

I'm just making it clear what he is getting into. And this particular thing is not going to change in the near future. If he wants to be a ground breaker, that's his choice. But he can't complain about the results.

I'm a rebel. I have always been a rebel. There is a cost. Having lived my life that way, I don't personally recommend it to anyone.

Do you want to know what it was like for a guy to have long hair in the 60s and 70s? It's just hair, right? It was bad enough when millions and millions of people were doing it. The price for being on the leading edge will be a lot higher.
