so i have to give a little backstory first. i had a boyfriend (i’ll name him jack, but that’s not his name), and word spread out we were dating, but eventually we grew apart so we broke up.
another thing is that one of my friends claire, rejected my other friend ethan. but when i think about it now, i feel like ethan is the one who really cares for me. he always comes to my defense, is really kind to everyone, makes sure i’m getting enough sleep and that i do my homework-, always is there if i need to talk, and to me, the best person in this world.
a lot of the time i turn around in class and see him gazing at me, so i smile and wave before paying attention again. whenever we see each other on campus, we always say hi and most of the time start a conversation (unless we’re in a rush). at this point, he’s one of my closest friends.
a few days ago, ethan came up to me and told me that he felt so empty, and he was missing something in his life. i felt that way too, and i tried to comfort him but i couldn’t think of anything to do. so we ended up going downtown that day and getting boba since i know he loves boba- and after that he cheered up a bit.
so my question is: do you think ethan likes me? and if he does, do you think he’s too scared to be rejected again, or he thinks i’m still in a relationship and doesn’t want to interfere? is there anything i should do next?
